The bride-elect is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert G. Breier of 3M3 N. Richmond road. SlcHenry and the late William C. Foley. Her fiance s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Prostko of Kenosha. Wis. Miss Foley graduated from Marian Central Catholic high •school and from St. Anthony s School of Nursing in Rockford. She is following her career as a registered nurse first at McHenry hospital and presently at St. Mary's On-The-Lake hospital in the cardiac surgical intensi\e care unit. Her fiance graduated from Bradford high school and received his B.S. degree in chemistry from the University of Wisconsin. Parkside, and attended John Marshall Law school in Chicago. Tim is following his career With a corporation in Milwaukee. . McHenry County Salon Celebrates Anniversary The McHenry County Salon No 483 Eight et Forty had their twenty-fifth silver anniversary party recently at the Huntley American Legion Post Home with forty-three attending The tables were decorated in red. white and silver with four beautiful silver lamps which Reba Owen had made Many- hard hours of work were put into this celebration by Le Petite Chapeau May Chasek and her committee workers, Chris ^iixon of Waukegan and Reba Owen of McHenry At the end of the dinner. Reba drew four numbers ana Bess Lewis of Galesburg. Mabel Schultz of Huntely. March 19. at 8 p.m.. the Spares Sunday Evening club will hold its "Let's Be Irish"" dance This seasonal dance will be held at The Greens of Golf Mill. 8909 David place. Will and DuPage counties Former Prisoner To Be Luncheon Guest Speaker The annual meeting of the auxiliary of the Family Service and Mental Health clinic for McHenry county was held recently in Woodstock One hundred and twenty members of the auxiliary enjoyed a brunch followed by the annual business meeting Certificates for outstanding service were presented to members, including Mrs Trisha Sayler. McHenry Mrs Barbara Johnson then presented the new slate of officers and directors for ap­ proval The following is a list of the officers and directors for 1977 President. Barbara Andrew. Harvard: first vice- president. Julia Jessup. McHenry. second vice- president. Karen Wallen. Crystal Lake: recording secretary. Cathy Faestel. Crystal Lake corresponding secretary. Sharyn Forbes. McHenry : treasurer. Chris Lamb. Woodstock and proposal chairman. Kay Pawl. Huntley Directors named included Leith Honmng. Mary Bruha and Wyn Cain, all of McHenry Mrs Johnson then presented the gavel and turned the meeting over to new president. Barbara Andrew Mrs Andrew presented the outgoing president with a certificate of service and honorary life membership, and a gift of appreciation for an outstanding year of service Mrs Andrew then recognized Penny Poehlmann and Kay Foriyes. both of Woodstock, for their work on the membership drive Coffees were held during the months of January and- February throughout the county to encourage interest in the Resource league and to inform potential new members of the league's activities and objectives in the field of mental health in McHenry county- Mrs Andrew then addressed the members on the new ob­ jectives of the group The league will be a resource" organization, giving financial aid and various types of assistance to many mental health services and agencies in McHenry county. She en­ couraged members to par­ ticipate in the activities of the Resource league to insure better mental health care for the residents of McHenry county The group will be concerned with services directly or indirectly associated with programs for mental health, alcoholism, mental retardation, drug ad­ diction and developmental disabilities. Following a review of this year s "'Fair Diddley" which will be held on May 15 in Woodstock. Mrs .Andrew in­ troduced guest speaker. Dennis Smith, executive director of the McHenry county Mental Health board Smith gave an informative talk on the mental health services that are presently- available in McHenry county and how the Resource league can take an active role in this ever expanding field He stressed the importance of community- mental health care where people can remain in their community and have the support of family and friends during times of crisis and stress Smith also emphasized the need for volunteers who would be willing to work on crisis Hot Lines'" and day treatment programs, and the need for preventive mental health seminars, transportation for patients and advocacy. Mrs Chandler serves on the Family Service Mental Health board, is a consultant for the Algonquin Police department, and a member of McHenry County Parental assistance Situations requiring discipline occur daily in every household: and discipline is often the one area of child- rearing that presents the most problems to parents Mrs Chandler will have handouts for the audience, and there will be ample time for audience participation and questioning Admission is free and the public is cordially invited Breakfast With Easter Bunny It's pancakes on Sunday. March 20. at the Johnsburg community club and the little ones can enjoy the flapjacks with an eager Easter Bunny. Phil Bartmann, above, tries his talents as a chef while the bunny hovers nearby to assist. The breakfast is sponsored by St. John's Athletic association, with the proceeds going to St. John's Restoration fund. Serving will start at 7:30 a.m. and continue until 1:30 p.m. .Along with the pancakes will be sausage, coffee and milk, and it's "all-you-can-eat". A bake sale will also be held during the breakfast.
