AS FOLLOWS: Section 1 - Definitions For the purpose of this Or­ dinance, the following definitions shall applv: <a> "Person" shall include any individual, firm, part­ nership, association, cor­ poration, company or organization of any kind. ib) "Property" shall include any real estate including im­ provements thereon and tangible personal property. <c> "Legal Guardian" shall include a person appointed guardian, or given custody, of a minor by a Circuit Court of this State, but does not include a person appointed guardian, or given custody of a minor under the Illinois Juvenile Court Act *33) "Minor" shall be a person w ho has attained seven years of but who has not yet > rtTched eighteen years of age. Section II - Offenses Within the Village of iCcHenrv Shores, it shall be unlawful: ( a ) F o r a n y u n e m a n c i p a t e d minor to willfully or maliciously injure or cause to be injured, any person or any property of another person without such person's consent. i b » F o r a n y p a r e n t o r guardian of any uneman- cipated minor living with its parents or guardian to neglect to restrain such minor from committing any act prohibited 'by Subsection <a> of this sec­ tion. The commission of any act prohibited by Subsection (a) of this section by an uneman­ cipated minor who is living with its parents or guardian shall raise the presumption that the parent or guardian has failed to exercise piroper parental responsibility and said minor shall he deemed to have acted with the knowledge, permission or acquiescence of such parent or guardian. It shall be an affirmative defense for the parent or guardian to prove tnat such parent or guardian exercised nis duty to restrain the unemancipated minor from committing the act prohibited by Subsection (a) of this section complained of in the pending action, but that such action on the part of the parent or guardian to attempt to restrain said minor, although exercised with due care, was unsuccessful. Section III - Penalty (a) Kvery unemancipated minor found guilty of an offense under Subsection (a) of Section II shall be subject to a fine not less than $25.00 nor more than $500.00 for each offense. ( b » K v e r y p e r s o n f o u n d guilty of an offense under Subsection ib) of Section II shall pay a fine not less than $25.00 nor more than $500.00 Section IV - Kffective Date This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon its passage, approval and publication in accordance with State statutes. CLOSED SUNDAY Spanish War Veterans Now Number 19 Spanish American War. veterans in Illinois now number nineteen This is eight less than on July 1 of last year according to the Veterans Administration Nationwide there are 551 remaining veterans of that war which occurred between 1898 and 1902. The number dropped 104 in the past six months. Donald R. Ramsey, director of the VA regional office in Chicago, said the VA keeps a month-by-month tally of these older veterans from their compensation and pension rolls. Lett, 42, of New Berlin, as assistant director of • the Illinois Department of Agriculture. Lett is state executive director of the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation service (ASCS) in Springfield.
