Woodstock Man Charged With Tax Evasion ' A Woodstock man was among six Illinois residents recently charged with failing to file an income tax return according to Samuel K. Skinner, United State attorney. Skinner stated that. "Irving Stolar. 8020 Crystal Springs road. Woodstock, was named in a two-count information with the wilful failure to file income tax returns for the years 1971 and 1972." According to Skinner, the information alleged that in 1971, "Stolar earned a gross income of $42,355.87, and that in 1972 he earned a gross income of $63,005.55, which he failed to report to the Internal Revenue service." State Parks Prove Popular During Winter State parks continue to keep pace with a trend in greater park attendance, according to statistics compiled by the Illinois Department of Con­ servation. State park attendance in Illinois is among the heaviest in the nation, including Moraine Hills State park, southeast of McHenry. Winter attendance at Moraine Hills accounted for almost 40 percent of the total number who visited the park last year. The first seven weeks were devoted to basic, operational communications at the Marine Corps Radio Operator's school in Twentynine Palms, Calif. In this initial period, he received instruction on the operation and adjustment of the tactical radios used by Marine Corps ground and avaition units. He studied voice radio procedure, communications security and the use of encryption (message "scrambling") equipment. During the advanced portion of the training, he studied the operation, installation and site emplacement of the AN-TRC-97 microwave radio com­ munication system. A 1976 graduate of McHenry high school, he joined the Marine Corps in August, 1976. Legal Officer Duties Studied By Navy Ensign Navy Ensign John M. Seaton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Seaton of 3804 W. Grove, McHenry, has completed the Non-Lawyer course at the Naval Justice school, Newport, R.I. Completion of this course enables graduates to provide para-legal advice and basic legal assistance service, plus perform the administrative duties of a unit legal officer. During the five-week course, students received instruction on the principles of military and civil law, court-martial procedures and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. A 1972 graduate of McHenry community high school, and a 1976 graduate of the University of Missouri, Columbia, with a bachelor of arts degree, he joined the Navy in August, 1972. German Lutheran Worship Service At Hon April 8 A German Lutheran worship service with Holy Communion will be held at 3 o'clock on Good Friday afternoon at Zion Lutheran church, 4206 W. Rt. 120 in McHenry. The Rev. Hillman Fischer of Highland Park will conduct the service and deliver the sermon. Pastor Fischer is a former translator for the World Council of Churches at Geneva, Switzerland, and professor oT systematic theology at Con­ cordia Teachers college in River Forest. He is now pastor of Redeemer Lutheran church in Highland Park. The bulletin for the Good Friday service will contain the liturgical portion of the service ,in both German and English languages. Pastor Fischer conducted Zion congregation's centennial German service in August, 1976.
