The Warriors defeated Rich­ mond on Monday 10 to 1, as the Warriors put the game away in the second inning with an 8 run outburst. The stocky righthander struck out 12, and walked only 5. Three of the 5 walks occurred in the second inning as the young lad walked the bases full, but then proceeded to gain his control and strike out the side. He added to the offensive attack with a double and triple, the only extra base hits of the game. The Warriors pounded out 13 hits, and committed no errors in the seven inning game. They play Barrington Saturday at 10 a.m. at Elgin high school. American Legion Baseball The American Legion has announced pairings for the 1977 American Legion Baseball regional tournaments and World Series. Pairings: Great Lakes regional (Region 5), Bell wood, 111., Wed. Aug. 24 - Michigan vs. Indiana; Swimmers representing Pioneer Center captured 12 awards at the northern Illinois Special Olympics at Aurora last week. The Special Olympics is for those boys and girls, men and women, who are develop- mentally disabled. Mrs. Liz Halaska, staff member who helped train and organize the client's participation in the recreational program, spoke of the pride she had in these people. "I will long remember the determination, the sport­ smanship and most of all the team spirit ahd concern for each other our swimmers showed," she praised. Six participants captured first pake awards in their respective categories. Event^ were based on age and swimming style. Two swirm mers captured two awards, and one- Bob Gritzuk-shared in three by taking part on the third-place 100-yard free style relay team.
