William Sch­ wartz Saturday, May 14, at St. Mary's Catholic church during a 2:30 ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Dowell of 4700 W. Willow lane, McHenry, and the groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Mat­ chen, Sr. of 4126 W. Crystal Lake road. Soprano selections were sung by Mary Ann Wegener and included "Wedding Prayer", "Ode to Joy", "Prayer of St. Francis" and "Ave Marie". Tom Birmingham of McHenry was commentator for the wedding. The bride chose a gown of silk faced organza and Venise cotton lace styled in a princess line with a full chapel drape train of imported French net. Appliqued Venise lace formed a yoke neckline with a garland of lace following the princess line of the gown and forming a double border at the hemline. The bride wore a picture hat of Venise lace and bridal illusion with scattered motiffs of matching lace on the illusion. The bridegroom's sister, Suzanne Lockhart of Marengo, attended the bride as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Margaret Dowell of DeSoto, HI., the bride's sister-in-law; Deniece Dowell, sister of the bride; and Patricia Comstock the groom's cousin, both of McHenry. Kim Comstock of McHenry, acted as flower girl. The attendants wore maize and coral print organza A line gowns styled with halter bodices with matching tie jackets accented by caplet sleeves. Each wore a picture hat with bands of matching ribbon at the crown and streamers at the back. A friend of the groom, Michael Haffner, Sr. of McHenry, handled best man duties white groomsmen in­ cluded the bride's brother, Gary Dowell, Jerome Reinhart and Bill Vavrik, both friends of the groom and all from McHenry. Mrs. Dowell wore an apricot gown of polyester knit accented by an accordian pleated cape collar with the groom's mother wearing a blue polyester knit with a complimentary cape. Two hundred and fifty guests congratulated the bridal couple at the American Legion hall following the ceremony. The bride's grandfather, Joseph Tonyan of Crystal Lake, was an honored guest at the reception. A honeymoon trip to Florida will precede residency in McHenry. The bride is a 1973 graduate of McHenry Community high school and is employed at Gearmaster. The groom graduated from McHenry Community high school and owns Bernie's Auto Body of McHenry. RALPH (JULIE ANNE) ROSINSKI APRIL WEDDING-Wedding bells rang and vows were exchanged in a double ring ceremony that united Julie Anne Messer and Ralph J. Rosinski in marriage April 2. The two became one in Queen of Martyrs Catholic church in Evergreen Park. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Messer of 1405 Bayview lane, Sunnyside, and the groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. George Rosinski of Oak Lawn. After a honeymoon trip, the couple are making their home in Conover, Wis. where they own and operate a restaurant. The one hundred and sixty- four members in attendance for the May meeting of the McHenry Senior Citizens club enjoyed a sing-a-long following the call to order by President Ralph Lockerbie at the East campus cafeteria. The en­ thusiast singers are con­ sidering adopting a club song such as "The More We Get Together" and having a short singing session at each meeting. The Pledge of Allegiance had been recited in unison, and President Lockerbie read a poem. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved, as was the treasurer's report. Members were reminded of the annual Hobby and Antique show May 23, and urged to begin right away getting their items ready for display, so that this Hobby show will be the best one yet. John Doerr reported several reservations still available for the bus-luncheon theatre trip to Shady Lane at Marengo May 25. The bus leaves McHenry State Bank parking lot at 10:45 a.m. Mr. Doerr also advised a couple of reservations are still available for the five day Mackinac Island trip June 13. Balance of deposit on this trip must be made by the end of May. Mrs. Clara Knetzer reports the May loop bus is filled and she is taking reservations for the June 8 trip. Mr. Doerr has a trip to Arlington Park race track scheduled for July 6, a trip to the Play Boy club and a boat ride on Lake Geneva August 3, and a bus-luncheon-theatre party to Drury Lane North in October. Bowling chairman, James Zednik, invited bowlers to come out to the summer sessions, and enjoy the good fellowship. Frank Giel was presented with a very nice gift from the bowlers at the bowling banquet, a framed "certificate of merit" with the signatures of all the bowlers commending both he and his good wife, Louise, on their very fine work for so many years. Eight new members were welcomed into the club, and encouraged to participate in all the projects and activities of the club. Bob Layer gave a most in­ teresting talk on Project 208-11, to develop water management, rehabilitation of lakes, curb pollution, and so forth. A reminder - The annual Hobby and Antique show will be held Monday, May 23 at 7:30 p.m., East Campus cafeteria. Ladies who have not brought cakes for a long time and want to volunteer to do so should tell Anne Rehfinger, Myrtle Grever, or any of the other girls on the social committee. Products Of Quilt Class To Be On Display The quilting class in Ingleside. under the able direction of Mrs. Esther Walk of Pistakee Highlands, is having its second annual quilt show Monday. May 23. from 10 a m to 6:30 p.m. at the Ingleside fire station. Refresh­ ments will be served and ad­ mission is free. Anyone interested in learning to quilt is invited to attend the classes which meet Monday mornings from 9:30 a.m. to noon at the village hall in Ingleside. Additional entries are ex­ pected before the early July deadline, reports Don Peasley, coordinator for this pageant which will be a feature at­ traction on opening night of the McHenry County fair. The fair opens Wednesday, Aug. 3, and continues through Sunday, Aug. 7. Newest Miss McHenry County entries have been filed by Miss Lake-in-the-Hills, sponsored by the Lake-in-the- Hills Jayceettes; Miss Har­ vard, sponsored by the Har­ vard Rotary club; and Miss Cary, sponsored by the Cary Chamber of Commerce. Mrs. Dorothy Kleckner and Mrs. Linda Duvall are chair- maning the Miss McHenry County contest again this year. First meeting of all candidates will be Tuesday, July 5, and preliminary judging will be in mid-July.
