In com­ munications, first place was awarded to Pearl Cooper of the McHenry unit for her press book and it is to be sent to division for further judging June 12. Election of officers for the year 1977-78 was held and Lauretta Homo of McHenry was elected as the new llth district president. Mrs. Elwayne (Dorathea) Schubbe of Joliet was elected vice-president, while the historian will be Mrs. Robert (Dorothy) Migalla of Wheaton, chaplain will be Mrs. Ralph (Eileen) Johnson of Aurora, and Mrs. Raymond (Betty Lou) Smith of McHenry was elected as treasurer. Mrs. Homo has selected Mrs. George (Ruth) Mrachek of McHenry as her secretary. The Sergeant-at-arms will be the new incoming presidents of DuPage, Kane, McHenry, and Will counties. Mrs. Robert (Mabel) Schultz of Huntley was endorsed by the district for 2nd division president. After an announcement from the Credentials Committee chairman that eighty-six delegates were in attendance at the convention, the meeting was adjourned. A luncheon was served by the members of the Harvard unit. The annual spring convention of the llth district of the American Legion auxiliary was held late in May at the Harvard Legion post home. Delegates attending from the McHenry unit were Mrs. Ed­ ward (Margaret) Datz, president; Mrs. Jack (Pearl) Cooper, secretary ; Mrs. Dennis (Grace) Latimer, first vice- president; Mrs. Raymond (Betty Lou) Smith, treasurer; Mrs. E.J. (Evelyn) Osmon, chaplain; Mrs. George (Ruth) Mrachek, past llth district president; and Mrs. Roy (Lauretta) Homo, incoming president of the llth district. Distinguished guests at the convention were William LeFew, mayor of Harvard; Florence Kennedy, McHenry County council president; and Estelle Calvin, Harvid unit president. Past district directors, presidents, and division presidents were also introduced, including Ruth Mrachek of the McHenry unit. Memorial services were conducted by Chaplain Doroty Migalla, assisted by the four county presidents for eighty- three members of the district, including seven from the McHenry unit.
