Joseph's Catholic church in Richmond was the scene for an exchange of marital vows between Debbie Stanfel and Carson Wike Saturday, May 28. The Rev. Neville blessed the union during a 3 o'clock Mass. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Stanfel of Richmond and the groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Kyle Wike of Libertyville. Approximately two hundred guests congratulated the bridal couple at a reception held in Twin Lakes. Wis. A three-week honeymoon trip through the western states was planned. Women's Club To Hold June Officers Luncheon Although the Lakeland Park Women's club does not have a regular meeting in June, there is the annual officers luncheon which will be held Thursday, June 9 at the Mill inn at Rich­ mond. The members are to meet at community house at 11 a.m., and after arranging to - double-up so too many cars will not be needed they will proceed on to Richmond to arrive there by 11:30 a.m. The "woman of the year" award will be presented and the "secret pals" will be revealed. New "secret pals" will be picked and it will be a most enjoyable afternoon for all. Anne Moore is taking reser­ vations. Even though no regular • meeting is scheduled for July, all members working on specific committees or those wanting to help at the picnic should be at the community house at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 7, as there is much planning and work to be done in regard to the picnic. The picnic is a cooperative event with the Lakeland Park Woman's club a and the Lakeland Park Property Owners association board of directors and is scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 14 at the com­ munity house grounds. The all- family picnic last year was so successful it was decided such a community picnic should become an annual event. Hostesses for the July 7 get- together will be Anne Moore and Lyda Radisch. TALK ON AGING Marge Jones, executive director of the McHenry Senior Citizens council, will address the local walk-in center at the McHenry Moose lodge Thur­ sday, June 16, at 1 p.m. Her topic will be, "The Older Americans Act", with em­ phasis on what it does for senior citizens. Spaghetti Supper Will Benefit 4-H Girls9 State Trip To finance their trip to Springfield to participate in competition at the Illinois State Fair in August, the Volo Busy Bees 4-H club is planning a benefit dinner. A spaghetti supper will be served Saturday, June 18, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Robert Crown grade school, Wauconda. Senior citizens will be served at a discount before 5 p.m. Fifty girls from the Busy Bees placed first in the Share- the-Fun skit contest held in Lake county late in May. Members of McHenry County Citizens for Life are currently making plans to attend the National Right to Life con­ vention which will be held in Chicago June 16 through 19. The convention headquarters will be in the Conrad Hilton hotel. Registration begins Thur­ sday, June 16, with the first program at 3 p.m. Mildred F. Jefferson, M.D., president of National Right to Life, will give the opening remarks and welcome at 8 p.m. The major address presented by Rabbi David Graubart will follow. Friday's activities begin at 8 a.m. The theme for the day is "Our Increasingly Violent Society - How?" Featured topics of this program are violence, abortion, euthanasia and quality of life. Among those conducting the programs will be physicians, psychologists and religious including Fr. Francis Lawlor, director of the Pro-Life department of the Catholic Diocese of Rockford. On Friday evening there will be a rally at the Chicago stadium beginning at 8 p.m. Entertainers will be Roy Rogers and Dale Evans, The Sons of the Pioneers, Sean Morton Downey Singers and the New People. The rally will be filmed as a television special scheduled for national airing this fall. "Stemming and Reversing the Tide of Violence: The Task of Every Man" is the theme of Saturday's program. Topics to be covered include death and dying, prisons, adoption, foster care, modern day care, and protective legislation. At 2:30 p.m. a Parade of States will kick off from Wacker drive and State street. The annual banquet will be held at 8 p.m., June 18, at the Conrad Hilton. Actor Joseph Campanella will be the featured speaker. The last day of the convention will begin at 8 a.m. Speakers for the day include Rep. Thomas Hanahan of the 33rd Legislative district. Rep Hanahan will speak on becoming a convention delegate and influencing a convention platform. At 10:30 a.m. several mini-workshops will be conducted simultaneously. Workshops will cover fund raising, speaking, media, alternatives and law. The National Right to Life committee general session and installation of officers at 11:50 a.m. will be the closing activity of the convention. Antique Jewel County Citizens For Life To Convention Lavaliere Worn By June Bride * Judith Marie HarriSon wore an antique ruby and pearl lavaliere that belonged to her grandmother when she gave her hand in marriage to Arthur Malechek. Jr. The ceremony was blessed by the Rev. William Schwartz in St. Mary's Catholic church Saturday, June 4 at 11 o'clock amidst altfir bouquets of pink, yellow and white gladiolus. Todd HarriSon gave the scripture readings and Michael HarriSon brought the offertory gifts to the altar. They are both are brothers of the bride. An uncle of the bride, Henry F. Nell, Jr., was commentator. The bride was escorted to the altar by her father while Mrs. Delores Etienne of West Point, Va., the groom's sister, offered musical selections on the organ. Hymns were led by the brother of the bride, Thomas A. HarriSon. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas A. HarriSon of Pistakee Bay, McHenry, and the groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Malechek of West Point, Va. The bride wore a gown fashioned of pearl appliqued alencore lace and silk faced organza, styled with an empire waistline, sabrina neckline and long cardinal sleeves. The semi a line skirt draped to a full chapel train and had a deep border of lace around the hemline. An elbow length veil was attached to a Juliet cap and she carried a cascading bouquet of yellow roses, white starbursts and stepanotis. Janice King of McHenry attended her sister as matron of honor while Kathryn Yakes of Berwyn, friend of the bride, Joyce HarriSon of Elgin and Julie HarriSon of McHenry, both sisters-in-law of the bride, were bridesmaids. The niece of the bride, Wendi King of McHenry, and niece of the groom, Ceciley Etienne of West Point, were flower girls. The attendants were gowned in yellow sleeveless polyester knit dresses styled with empire waistlines and yellow chiffon capes embroidered with maize and pink roses. Each wore a yeUow picture hat and carried colonial bouquets of pink roses and yellow mums. The flower girls wore yellow flowered floor length dresses with matching bonnets and purses. David Malechek of West Point, Va. handled best man duties for his brother with groomsmen including Timothy E. HarriSon, the bride's brozher of Elgin, Patrick T. King, bride's brother-in-law of McHenry and Paul Manthei of Monroe, Wis. Ted Craft from Ann Arbor, Mich, and Tom Ruble from Calumet City, 111., both friends of the groom, acted as ushers. Two nephews of the bride, Patrick King, Jr. and Thomas A. HarriSon, III, both from McHenry, carried the rings on pillows made by the bride's grandmother, Mrs. Dorothy Schaefer. Mrs. HarriSon wore a lilac chiffon floor length gown with three tiered peplum while the groom's mother chose a full length sleeveless gown of peacock blue with a matching full length coat with lace cuffs. Each wore a complimentary corsage. One hundred and fifty guests congratulated the bridal couple in St. Mary's church hall following the ceremony. The couple plan to travel through the states of Wisconsin, Virginia and some of the western states before taking up residency in Salt Lake City, Utah. The bride graduated from Marian Central Catholic high school and Rosary college, River Forest, with a BA degree. She has been teaching at Montini Middle school at the elementary level and will continue teaching at Our Lady of Lourdes in Salt Lake City. The groom is a West Point high school graduate and received a BS degree from Northern Illinois university. He is employed as a numerical control programmer in En- virotech, Salt Lake City. The bride was honored at two showers prior to the wedding, the first given by Mrs. Elaine Nell, the bride's aunt, Janice King, and Joyce and Julie Friends-Relatives Honor Sr. Junilla On Golden Jubilee SR. M. JUNILLA STILLING Sr. M. Junilla Stilling, O.S.F., will be celebrating her golden jubilee June 12 with a Mass at 12 noon at St. Mary's Catholic church, McHenry, with Father E.C. Baumhofer officiating. Sr. M. Andreella will be at the organ and Mass servers will be grand nephews, Chuck Schaefer and Tom Young. A dinner for the immediate family will be held at the Knights of Columbus hall, 1304 N. Park street, McHenry, following the Mass. The family of Sr. M. Junilla extends an invitation to relatives and friends to an open house at the K.C. hall from 2 to 4 p.m. Sr.M. Junilla entered St. Joseph convent in Milwaukee, Wis. Aug. 28, 1926. She was received in the order June 15, 1929 and the first vows were taken Aug. 13, 1929. Perpetual vows wre made Aug. 13, 1935 and a silver jubilee celebrated June 15, 1952. Sr. M. Junilla handled a variety of duties at the Sacred Heart sanitarium for the past fifty years. She is now retired and living at Marie Linden retirement center, Rockford. HarriSon. (Clarice) Freund, all of McHenry, and Mrs. Robert (Mercedes) Crichton of Rock­ ford and two brothers, Arthur and Ray, also of McHenry. Her parents were Henry J. and Christine Stilling, both deceased. Medical Specialist To Talk At Lamaze Meeting The Lamaze Mothers of the Lamaze Parents organization will hold their monthly meeting Monday, June 13 at 7:30 p.m. It will be held at the Woodstock hospital cafeteria and the featured speaker will be Dr. Maria Flores. Dr. Flores is a Gyn-Ob specialist at the Woodstock Medical center. She will discuss various topics including different aspects of pregnancy and childbirth, breast feeding, post partum care and birth control. Any interested women are invited to attend. Dr. Flores began her education in Manila, Philip­ pines, and came to Milwuakee to do her internship in 1969. Since then she has been at Margaret Hague Maternity • hospital in Jersey City, N.J., then to Baltimore, Md., to do her residency in Ob-Gyn (Obstetrics-Gynecology). The following year was spent at the Boston Hospital for Women and in 1975 she came to Woodstock to practice. She is married to Dr. Abando and is the mother of two boys. The mother help line will hold an important meeting at 6:39 prior to the speakers afl* pearance. This meeting is required for all members presently on the help line and for new mothers who wish to join. The loss of money sel­ dom worries an intelligent person; it's the loss of faith that wrecks the life; Legion Auxiliary 11th District In Spring Convention The „ American Legion auxiliary, 11th District annual spring convention was held at Unit 265, Harvard,- recently, with members from Kane, DuPage, Will and McHenry c o u n t i e s p a r t i c i p a t i n g a n d attending. (' President Carrie Petrie of Unit 630, Elburn, Kane county, introduced all the past district directors and presidents and past division presidents present at the convention. Dorothy Migalla, district chaplain, conducted a very touching memorial service with the placing of red, white and yellow carnations into crystal vases as each deceased member's name was called. Nominations of new slate of district officers were presented to the floor and unanimously they became the elected body. Endorserlfent of second , division officers wer^ presented to the floor and endorsed by those present. E l e c t i o n o f d e l e g a t e s a n d alternates to the department and national conventions were held. Three Day- Rummage Sale At Montini Gym A rummage sale with articles including furniture, appliances, antiques, clothing, and baked goods will be held at the Montini school gym. Thursday and Friday, June 9 and 10, hours are from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. with Saturday times set for 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. A special on Saturday will be the offer for a bagful of the individual's choice at a minimal price.
