Obtains Needed Equipment For New Program Volunteers have come for ward to help the Pioneer center obtain needed equipment for its Birth to-Three program This program provides help to parents and their child when their child has a delay in any area of development, Tom Gollan. director of children's services, said in expressing appreciation for the assistance provided by these volunteers. Mothers of children enrolled in this Piooneer center program for tiny children sponsored a rummage and bake sale at Crystal Lake to raise the funds. Mrs. Jane Kerley and Mrs Marilyn Ellrich coordinated the effort, held at Tarpley house. Gollan said the continuing help provided through volun teer efforts and contributions from many sources is valuable because the staff finds many needs that cannot be met through other funding sources Gollan said a child must be 3 years or under and reside in McHenry county to qualify for this program of service. Pioneer center makes no charge for the services. Children who can be helped are those who are slow in sit ting, walking, talking, toilet training, or learning, for example," he said. The Birth- to-Three program is conducted at 5005 W. McCullom Lake road in McCullom Lake. Persons may inquire about the program and discuss specific areas of potential help by calling 385 0600.
