McHenry County Extension adviser The four-day conference will feature discussions and group activities developed around the topics of self, helping others, motivation, and competition More, than 1,000 young people attend the conference each year. Closing this year's con­ ference will be nationally^ known humorist Qrady NiStt Nutt is best known for his unique brand of "down-home" humor and his ability to see funny things in everyday happenings In addition to attending educational discussions and workshops, participants will be using the recreational facilities of the Universitv of Illinois IMPE building Any 4-H member in McHenry county between the ages of 14 and 19 may apply to attend the con­ ference Applications are now available. Double Honor Is Accorded Mrs. Wymore Mrs Maxine Wymore. Woodstock, has been elected to a three-year term on the Northern Illinois Alumni association board. Mrs. Wymore served two one-year terms as member-at-large. Mrs. Wymore has also been selected as the Study Course chairman for the 1977 fall conference of the State of Illinois Welfare association to be held at the Conrad-Hilton hotel Oct. 23 through Oct. 25. She met with her committee in Springfield on May 25 to outline the courses to be presented at the conference. Presently, Mrs Wymore is the District II chairman of Illinois Welfare association which includes the collar counties around Cook. Each of the ten state districts meets four times a year. McHenry county will host the August meeting. Mrs. Wymore is the ad­ ministrator of the McHenry County Department of the Illinois Department of Public Aid. ^"qCATlOHA^) [ | College Honors \ Local Coeds Receive BA Degrees May 29 Linda M. Catanzaro and Joyce L. Heard, both of McHenry, received bachelor of arts degrees from Augustana college, Rock Island, at its 117th annual commencement May 29. Miss Catanzaro, an English major, is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph G. Catanzaro, Jr., 2404 S. Hyde Park avenue. She was assistant resident director of one of the college residence halls during the past year. Miss Heard, an elementary education major, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James N. Heard, 1911 W. Sunnyside Beach drive COLLEGE GRADUATE Mrs. James (Cammie) Knaack of Morris, 111., received a bachelor of arts degree in human relations which required courses in psychology, sociology and anthropology. Judson College, Elgin, held graduation exercises Sunday, June 5, at Hemmans Memorial building. Mrs. Knaach is a 1974 graduate of McHenry Com­ munity high school. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Steiner of McHenry.
