Bohuslav. also of Chicago and a former ten-year resident of McHenry. During the double ring ceremony, the bride received an heirloom gold band belonging to her great grand­ mother while the groom received the customary plain gold band Nuptial vows were ex­ changed at the Ritz Carlton hotel in a garden setting with walkways, trees, fountains, and walls decorated with multicolored flowers entwined throughout Special stucco and brick props were constructed for the occasion Special music was provided by an orchestra. Judge Julius Hoffman who had presided over the famous DIAL Ay PRAYER. / 385-1234 "Chicago Seven" trials in the late 1%0's officiated at the 7 o clock ceremony Friday. June 10. The judge is a close personal friend of the bride's family and performed the marriage ceremony for her parents also. The bride is the daughter of Mr and Mrs Alfred E Stern. MICKEY GLADMAN SURPRISE CELEBRATION-Mr. and Mrs. Mickey Gladman of McHenry were pleasantly surprised when, upon their return from a visit to Mr. Gladman's mother's house, they found a yard party planned by their three daughters. Deborah. Joanne. Darlene and. son-in-law, Mike, to honor them on their twenty-fifth wedding anniversary. Despite the early afternoon rain, about seventy-five relatives and friends attended the open house throughout the day to congratulate the couple. Many nice gifts were opened and admired. The highlight of the day was the appearance of Mrs. Gladman's maid of honor 25 years ago, Bootsie O'.N'eil and her husband. Jack, from Homewood, III. It was the second time in 25 years that the couples has seen each other. Because Mr. Gladman's best man is now living in California, he was unable to attend. After the opening ceremonies. Chapeau Passe Betty Paulin of Wonder Lake gave a report on the spring Pouvoir which was held in Jacksonville. Betty had several awards to present to standing committe chairmen. Florence Kennedy of Har­ vard made the initial donation for the nurses scholarship fund for the coming year. Recognition for the 100 per cent membership went to Virginia Mann of Woodstock. Children and Youth was received by Mabel Schultz of Huntley. Betty reported the fiftv-second annual La Maishe Departmental will be held July 10 and 11 at the Pick Congress hotel in Chicago. Gifts were presented to several partners who had been winners in the department project including Laura Struck of Hebron; Esther Ballard of Woodstock; May Chesak of Huntley; Becky Gabel of Fox River Grove and Pearl Cooper of McHenry. It was reported that the buffet supper held in McHenry was very successful. Acknowlegement was received from the Children and Youth. National Jewish hospital, the nurses scholarship fund, the Cystic Fibrosis foundation and the McHenry County Lung association. Birthday dues were collected from partners having birthdays in the last of the year. Special announcements in­ formed members of the twentieth-fifth anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Schultz of Huntley to be celebrated Oct. 18 at 7:30 p.m. Also celebrating a fiftieth anniversary- July 24 at the church social hall are Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Chesak of Huntley. Plans were made for a picnic Sunday, June 26. at Huntley Deicke park at 4 p.m. Everyone is asked to bring a dish to pass, their own table service, beverage and meat for a cookout. The meeting was adjourned and dessert was served. the effect of a bustle and circled the hem of the skirt. The junior bridesmaid wore an exact replica of the attendents gowns made for her. Mrs Stern wore a gown of layers of coral and white silk chiffon while the groom's mother chose a hand knit linen gown of lemon yellow. One hundred and fifty guest attired in 'black tie" greeted the newlweds in a receiving line held in the salon of the hotel and dinner and dancing followed in the grand ballroom. The honeymoon will extend over the summer as the couple plan to cruise on the groom's sailing yacht during the summer months. Later in the winter, they will complete their honeymoon skiing in Vail. Colo, as guests of the owner of the local newspaper The couple will be residing in a con- dominum located in Chicago's Goldcoast area. The bride attended the Latin school of Chicago for high school education and is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin with a B.F A degree. She is employed as an administrative assistant at Chase Econometric Associates. Chicago. The groom attended high school in Park Ridge, received an A B A. degree from Ripon college and a M B. A from Emory college He is an economist. The Smile chapter of Parents Without Partners w ill hold their next meeting Friday. June 17 at 8 30 p.m. at the American Legion home in Crystal Lake. All first time guests are urged to attend ^he orientation program which begins at 8 p.m. Deloris Flynn. ways and means chairman, announces that following the general meeting a white elephant silent auction will be held. Members and guests are to bring something usable, like a knick- knack for the auction. This event is a lot of fun and a fund raiser. The chapter activities for the end of June include a Father's day cookout where the women cook for the men. a family "let's eat out", a family cam pout at Big Trout cam­ pground in Belvedere, a teen- adult rap session, several coffee and discussion nights, and a birthday party. Those eligible for mem­ bership in Parents - Without Partners are single parents, divorced, t widowed, separated or unmarried. Custody of the children is not a requirement for membership. Pioneer Club Members Plan June 22 Outing Members of the Piomger club will board the bus at Richmond parking lot Wednesday, June 22. at 9 a.m. for an outing in­ cluding a tour of Jewel at Barrington, and lunch and a matinee at the Opera House, Woodstock. Fifty-three members were present at the June 7 meeting. A prayer was said by Vera Frey preceding lunch and birthdays were honored. The meeting was opened with a pledge of allegiance to the flag and Ruth Schmitz read an article on flag etiquette, noting that Flag day is June 14. The McHenry County Historical society held their annual meeting June 12. Wanda Todd, who is on the board spoke on the society telling about the museum. It was voted by the club to pay a membership fee for the ensuing year. It was announced that the Illinois Detriment on Aging will conduct public hearings on the state plan for fiscal year 1978 for use of federal funds allotted to Illinois under the Older Americans' act of 1965. The public hearing for this area will be June 21 froih 1 to 5 p.m. at the First Presbyterian church, 406 N. Main, Rockford. Volunteers are requested to attend. Better Business Bureau of Metropolitan Chicago, Inc (Social Service) will be the guest speaker at the Spares Sunday Evening club June 26. at 7:30 p.m. Urshan's subject will be "Taming the Wild Food Bill". This meeting will be held at the Holy Trinity Lutheran church, 2328 Central road. Glen view. The Spares Sunday Evening club is a non-sectarian, non­ p r o f i t s o c i a l - c u l t u r a l organization for single, widowed, divorced and legally separated adults. This club serves residents of Cook. Lake, Kane. McHenry, Will and DuPage counties. Spring Grove Pastor Accepts New Appointment Reverend Len Schoenherr of the Spring Grove United Methodist church has accepted an appointment to be the pastor of the Zion United Methodist church of Mendota. 111. Reverend Schoenherr and his family will be leaving Spring Grove June 17. A farewell picnic honoring the Schoenherr family was held at the Mount Rev. Bob Hagerman, dynamic young Crystal Lake pastor, will be the featured speaker at the June Women Aglow in Christ luncheon,. The luncheon will be at Martinetti's, located on Route 14 in Crystal Lake. Thursday. June 23, beginning at 11 a.m. Angela Amici will bring her ministry in song. After graduating from Central Bible college, in Springfield. Mo., Bob and his wife Jolene traveled across the country for a number of years ministering as members of the gospel quartet known as the Maranatha singers. Rev. Hagerman's first permanent assignment was as youth pastor to a Crystal Lake church. He was then called to Danville, 111., as associate pastor and when the need arose he was called back to Crystal Lake as pastor. Bob and Jolene are still singing together as part of his present ministry. Women Aglow in Christ is an i n d e p e n d e n t , n o n - d e n o m i n a t i o n a l C h r i s t i a n organization. McHEN'RY HOSPITAL BIRTHS THIRD DAUGHTER Dennis and Terri Meyers of 416 Kensington, McHenry, announce the birth of their third daughter, Brandi Marie. The baby was born May 6 and weighed 7 lbs. They are both the children of Hope United Methodist church June 12 in Pistakee Highlands, following the worship services at Spring Grove and Mount Hope.
