To be eligible entrants must be between 3 and 15 years of age. Motorized vehicles will not be allowed. Vehicles permitted are bicycles, wagons, scooters, baby buggies, velocipedes, etc. The parade will take place Saturday, Aug- 20. Starting point, the Lakeview Food Mart at the corner of Ririgwood road and Fox Lake road. It will go to the Pistakee Highlands Community center building where winners will be an­ nounced and prizes awarded. All vehicles must be decorated. Judging will start promptly at 10 a.m. First place prize is a 10 speed bike. All entries will receive free pop, ice cream, and hot dogs at the end of the parade, plus many more prizes will be awarded. Family and friends of par­ ticipants and parade watchers are welcome to join in the Pistakee Highlands community picnic at the community center. There will be brats, hot dogs, beverages, games and music. Entry blanks for the parade must be filled out and turned in by 6 p.m. Aug. 19 at the Lakeview Food Mart. Judges decisions will be final. Youngsters from Sunnyside and Johnsburg are invited to enter the parade. For more information call Dan Felix, 497- 3837. TWINSBORN Tom and Dawn Miller, for­ merly of 1416 Bayview lane', were expecting the arrival of their second child this month. To their complete surprise and delight they became the proud parents of twin boys born 20 minutes apart July 5. The boys Brian and Christian weighed over 5 lbs., each and haye a brother, Shawn, at home to greet them. The Millers now reside in Hanover Park. Tom is still recuperating from an auto accident in which he was severely injured a couple of months ago. BIRTHDAYS Birthday greetings this week go to Maria Metzgar who has her day July 17. Sandy Kieser celebrates her day July 18. Also celebrating the eighteenth Is Ernie LeBay and Laura Kennebeck has her day July 20. Best wishes to you all for a happy day and many more to come. HAWAIIAN PARADISE Mr, and Mrs. Edgar Hehn of 1404 Sunnyside drive recently returned from a vacation in Hawaii. Johanna said it's truly an island paradise. They were accompanied by a grand­ daughter whom they took along to show her her birthplace. The granddaughter was born in the Islands while her father was stationed there with the Armed Forces. Sunday, July 10, the Hehns hosted a family reunion picnic in their back yard. About thirty relatives were oip hand to enjoy the delicious food and the day. Youth Choir Slates Island Lake Concert A youth choir, calling themselves the Sonshine Celebration, is giving a concert at St. Johns Lutheran church. Island Lake, July 30. The choir, from Zion Lutheran church, Bethalto, 111., has been on tours the past several years and is planning a tour this year througtjf n o r t h e r n s t a t e s a n d C t " sharing their faith with Others by spreading the Lord's message of love and grace through music and witness. The music is folk-rock in style and lyrics are Gospel oriented. The choir, at times, makes use of flutes, guitars, drums, piano, and organ in presenting its message. The group emphasizes that this is not a concert done by young persons for young persons.
