Saturday night they met with other members of Art's family at his sister's in Green Bay for a wonderful reunion. Everyone had a wonderful time catching up on news and enjoying good food. On Sunday, Art and Dave helped the Linstads with the new house they are building. Maya and Tom Walkington spent the weekend with Tom's parents, the Paul Walkingtons. Of course the main reason for the visit this past weekend was the 10-year class reunion of Tom's from the McHenry Community high school. There were others of course who enjoyed the class reunion and I hear tell that they all had a real good visiting time. Sure do change even in ten years. A step in the right direction was accomplished by Helping Paws' Spay-Neuter month (May, during which period 115 female dogs, thirty-six male dogs, seventy-one female cats, and fifty-eight male cats, a total of 280 animals, received spay-neuter surgery under this program. Half of the fees charged for surgery were paid by Helping Paws; half by the pet owners themselves. Helping Paws spent $4,348.75 on the program. The results represent a noteworthy ac­ complishment in humane ef­ forts to control the over­ population of dogs and cats. Let's illustrate with a little multiplication exercise. Consider if these 280 had procreated as either fathers or mothers, alloting each four offspring per year, the very minimum HP has saved from adding to the unwanted statistics is 1120 per year.
