Court Finalizes Day Of Recollection Plans % Court Joyce Kilmer No. 573, Catholic Daughters of America, will hold its first meeting of the 1977-1978 schedule Thursday, Sept. 15, at 8 p.m., in the K.C. hall, 1304 N. Park street. Chairman for the evening is Helen Grenkowitz ami on her committee are Ann Buschek, Ann Studin, Agnes Adams, Clara Stilling, Margaret Stilling and Teresa Van Buren. - This is a very important meeting because the plans for the Oct. 18 Day of Recollection at the Resurrection center in Ridgefield, 111., will be finalised. Anyone interested in this event is urged to be present as transportation will be arranged by Mary Freund, chairman. There will be no bus this year, only private cars. The printed program for 1977- 1978 will be distributed at this meeting. Chairmen and committee members can then plan their meetings in advance. The annual fall card party, open to the public, is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 6 in the K.C. hall. The officers of the court are in charge and as usual there will be refreshments. Members and friends of the Court are cordially invited to attend. Free Instructional Course On Parenthood A reminder to prospective parents comes from Bert Hanson, executive director of Memorial Hospital for McHenry County at Woodstock. Hanson announced the next "Preparation for Parenthood" free instructional course-a two evening session -will begin at 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 12. The informational program will be held in the hospital dining room on both Sept. 12 and 19, as a free community service program of Memorial hospital. Both prospective mothers and "fathers are in­ vited, and in the past frequently both expectant parents have attended these sessions. Mrs. Fran Scholpp, R.N., o b s t e t r i c a l d e p a r t m e n t supervisor, will take part in the program, which includes a tour of the hospital's maternity department, movies and talks. Fathers-to-be wishing to be in the delivery room with their wives are reminded to obtain the proper permission slip from their doctor and must attend these sessions For those unable to attend these September sessions, program dates have been scheduled for November. The first in the series will begin 8 p.m. Nov. 7 and the second, 8 p.m. on Nov. 14. YOUNG SINGLES The Young Single Adults club of St. Thomas church, Crystal Lake, invite all interested singles between the ages of 19 and 35 to join in their Sep­ tember activities. Nuptial Vows Exchanged At Guitar Mass Diane Wagner and Brad Kleven chose a musical background of guitars for their nuptial Mass at St. Mary's Catholic church Saturday, Sept. 3. Mixed floral arrangements decorated the altar where the Rev. William Schwartz presided over the exchange of marital promises during a 2:30 p.m. ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Urban Wagner of 4208 Crestwood drive, McHenry, and the groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Earl Kleven of Hanesville road, Round Lake. 1 The bride wort a white princess line gown with an overlay of sheer gossamer designed with a square neckline, short sleeves and demi bodice of lace. Her flamingo chapel length train was edged with matching lace and satin piping. A bridal hat of sheer illusion trimmed with lace completed her ensemble. A sister of the bride from Bristol, Wis., Carol Meyer, attended as matron of honor. Bridesmaids included Lyn Wagner, sister-in-law of the bride from McHenry; Liz Schaefer, stepsister of the bride from McHenry; and Karen Springer and Sue Skora, both of Lake Villa. The bride chose wrap-around gowns of apricot qiana with matching cloche hats for her attendants. Newlyweds Visit McHenry Family-Friends Mr. and Mrs. Albert Jesky of Colorado spent last week in McHenry where they visited with their families and friends. The former Michele Toussaint, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H.J. Toussaint of Hun- terville Park, McHenry, and Albert Jesky, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Jesky, also of McHenry, were married Oct. 20, in Denver, Colo. Following a busy week of family gatherings and shopping excursions, the visitors left Sunday, Sept. 4 to return to Denver via Mt. Rushmore and the Bad Lands. The young couple, both graduates of McHenry Com­ munity high school, plan to make Colorado their per­ manent home. A combination of sphagnum moss, leaves of Japanese iris, miniature cattails, red okra pads and fall Oak leaves, along with the craft of the artist, culminated in a "family of ducks" in their natural habitat. Early Fall Wedding For Local Couple An early fall wedding solemnized at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran church Satur­ day, Sept. 3, united Cynthia Lee Smith and George Landholt, both of McHenry, in marriage. The Rev. Roger Schneider officiated at the 3 o'clock ceremony. Altar bouquets of white and yellow carnations and roses decorated the altar and the bridal couple chose the traditional "Wedding Song" to be played. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles W. Smith of 2212 W. Country lane, McHenry, and the groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Hilmer C. Landholt of 316 S. Linden, Decatur, 111. The bride chose a cream colored gown styled with a V neckline and accented with beige and brown lace. She wore an orange-yellow carnation in her hair and carried a bouquet of orange-yellow carnations, white roses and baby's breath. Sharon L. Filip of McHenry House (]/\l attended the bride as maid of honor and she was gowned in a full length dress of burgandy and blue flowers on a tan background. A wristlet corsage of carnations and burgandy roses was worn. The bridegroom was assisted by Jack White of Holiday Hills as best man. Mrs. Smith was attired in a formal length gown of fall colors with full flowing sleeves while the groom's mother chose a pale blue linen street length dress. Immediately following the wedding ceremony, a dinner for the family members and wedding party was held at Indian Manor restaurant. Later in the evening, eighty guests toasted the bridal couple at a reception at the V.F.W. Post home. The bride is a 1974 graduate of McHenry Community high school and is employed at Oak Industries, Crystal Lake. The groom is a parts manager for Reichart auto sales, Wood­ stock. His educational b a c k g r o u n d i n c l u d e s graduation from McArthur high school, Decatur, 111., at­ tendance at Lawrence university, Appleton, Wis. and Millikin university, Decatur, 111. He served as a member of the U.S. Navy from 1970 to 1974. The newlyweds plait to make their home in McHenry. "All Church" Rummage Sale Set Sept. 9-10 The fall annual "All Church" rummage sale at the First United Methodist church, 3717 West Main street, will be held F r i d a y , S e p t . 9 f r o m 8 a . m . t o 8 p.m., and Saturday, Sept. 10, from 8a.m. to 12 noon. This is a fund raising project for the church treasury and rummage may be brought to the church and put into the northeast area of the basement.
