Beginning Tuesday, Oct. 4, Mrs. Ruth Sveen will conduct a craft class from 10:30 to noon. The class will continue several Tuesday mornings thereafter. The only cost involved will be for whatever materials are needed for each session. There is no charge for the classes because Mrs. Sveen has volunteeered her services for this library project. The classes will focus on many different types of crafts growing so in popularity today, and will specialize in ideas for Christmas gifts as well.. The library is also interested in finding someone to conduct similar classes in an evening session for those patrons who have jobs during the day, but are still interested in learning some new handicrafts. Those able to volunteer such a service should contact Mrs. June Stuart at 385-0036. There will be sign-up sheets at the check-out desk regarding the various classes. Because of the size of the library community room, enrollment for-the sessions will be limited to no more than twenty people. The library's current displays will appeal to a variety of interest, and include a stunning rock collection and an unique handmade cloth doll collection. The library is open Mondays through Saturdays, week days from 1 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m.' to 5 p.m. Community | Calendar | Consumers Beware Illinois Attorney General William J. Scott recently warned consumers that unless they specify their desire for a spare tire when purchasing a new automobile, they may find their car equipped with a "space saver" emergency tire. Scott said the space saver is strictly for emergencies and cannot be safely driven for more than 100 miles. When installed, the tire is not in flated. In an emergency the motorist uses an' inflating apparatus on the tire.
