This elder can't complain about th' good things a bein' available, but it seems that there should be a wav o' teachin' th' young that it take s a lot o' doin', on th' part o' parents, t' pervide th' kind o' life, enjoyed by one an' all, an' all th' luxuries mayn't be possible wi'out th' mothers a bringin' a goodly share o' what it takes, an' that puts a large burden on th' problem o' pervidin' jobs f'r 'em. Deaths BESSIE HUDECEK Mass was offered in St. Odillo church, Berwyn, for Bessie Hudecek, 77, who died Sunday, Oct. 2, in Memorial hospital, Woodstock. She had made her home in Wonder Lake. Mrs. Hudecek was born June 25, 1900, in Chicago, the daughter of Joseph and Arma Holub. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; a son, Melvin, who had been ad­ vertising manager for the McHenry Plaindealer several years ago; and a brother, Joseph Holub of Wonder Lake. Three nephews, Myles Holub of Glenwood Springs, Colo., Joseph Holub of Westchester and George Holub of Berwyn. Memorial contributions in the name of the deceased may be made to the Wonder Lake Rescue squad. EDNA M.CARTER Chapel services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at the George R. Justen and Son funeral home for Edna M. Carter, 65, who died Oct. 4 at Alexian Brothers hospital, Elk Grove Village. Mrs. Carter, who lived at 6754 Pinetree street, Hanover Park, was born March 30, 1912, in Chicago, the daughter of Emmett and Celia (LaBlanc) Husted. Hawkins, McHenry, and Edward J. Hawkins, Hanover Park; thirty-two grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Anna Mae Tumbleston, Chicago; and a brother, Edward Husted, Tomahawk, Wis. Visitation was scheduled for Thursday and Friday from 1 tn 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Herman Graef of the Zion Lutheran church will officiate. For The Fish The farm pond seems to be gaining popularity in Illinois according to the Illinois Deaprtment of Conservation. Since 1970 some 7,436 new farm ponds have been built in the state bringing the total number to about 76,000. Conservation department officials approve of the growth trend. They say that ponds are an asset because they provide improved drainage, soil erosion control and fish and wildlife habitat.
