MURRAY LAWN WEDDING-An outdoor setting at the Chapel Hill Country club was chosen by Tammy Marie O'Leary and Robert Lynn Murray for their wedding Sunday, Sept. 18. Nuptial vows were repeated before the Rev. Roger H. Olson of the Nativity Lutheran church of Wonder Lake during a 4 o'clock ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank O'Leary of McHenry and the groom's mother of Mrs. Elaine Murray of Wonder Lake. The groom is a member of the U.S. Air Force and began his tour of duty at Texas Air Force base shortly after the marriage. His bride will join him in Texas after graduation from McHenry Community high school in January. MR. AND MRS. H. RAINER MERZ SUMMER WEDDING--Valerie Anne Rode and H. Rainer Merz exchanged nuptial vows July 8 in Chicago. They recently took a honeymoon trip throughout the western states. A reception was held for the newly weds Sept. 11 at the McHenry Country club. The bazaar will open at 10 a.m., and continue until 4:30 p.m., and will be featuring a bakery booth with delicious homemade goodies; a deli counter with homemade jellies, preserves and many other moth-watering items; a living things section with a great variety of plants; granny's attic; parcel post booth; Christmas cove; and several sections of handmade items of Local Chapter Finalizes Plans For Bake Sale Plans for an October bake sale were finalized when the Beta Sigma Phi of Pi Alpha chapter held its first meeting of the month. Mrs. Aleta Gemmel hosted the gathering at her home. President Fawn Vail opened the meeting and reports from officers and committee chairmen were given. The main topic of discussion, the bake sale, brought about a scheduled date of Oct. 15 for the event. A variety of goods will be displayed from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the supermarket at the McHenry Market Place. A new tradition was voted on and passed. Members will send yearly Christmas greetings to former sorority sisters who have moved away. A couples Silly Supper is- planned for Saturday, Nov. 12 with prospective members and husbands. Following meeting ad­ journment, the Sweet Adelines entertained with a musical program. Fire Safety Tips Guest Speaker Topic St. Agatha Court 777, National Catholic Society of Foresters at Johnsburg will meet in the community club hall Tuesday evening Oct. 18 at 7:30. Following the regular business meeting, members of Company 2, Johnsburg, McHenry Township Fire District will be present to speak and answer questions on fire prevention in and around the home. Mrs. George Mann is chairwoman of the October committee. Other committee members are Mrs. Gary Kumpula, Mrs. William Kuechel, Mrs. Wayne Hiller, Mrs. Lois Gonyea and Mrs. Don Johnson. The award will be presented to a deserving business woman in the McHenry area. Since this is a surprise award, her name will be withheld until the an­ nouncement. McHenry Girl Seeks Title At U Of W Homecoming DENNY SAAGER and BETH HOWELL Beth Howell, McHenry, and Denny Saager, Poynette, Wis., are among the candidates for homecoming couple at the University of Wisconsin- Platteville.
