The announcement was made Thursday morning by House Minority Leader John Rhodes (R-Ariz.) at a breakfast gathering of Republican congressmen. The situation in the High School District is citical and here's why! With the loss of approximately 560 Johnsburg students, our school will fall short by over $1.15 million each year in which to operate the school. 30 to 35 teachers will be cut, saving approximately $400,000. In addition, the Board of Education has already cut $400,000 from the budget (programs, staff, and operation costs) for a total of $800,000 in cuts. That still leaves the High School $350,000 short each year. All studies indicate that further severe cuts must be made if the tax rate increase is not approved. THE CHOICE IS YOURS!
