The groom graduated from Northwestern Illinois university with a bachelor of arts degree in psychology. 99 Set For October The October meeting of the Town and Country Newcomers took place Tuesday, Oct. 11, at St. Paul's Episcopal church. President Sandy Howell welcomed new members and visitors, and reports on recent club activities were read. Final plans were discussed for the "Frank 'n Stein" party to be held later in the month. Club members were reminded of the next "Tea, Talk, and Sew" Oct. 20 and the silent auction scheduled for Nov. 8. At the conclusion of the business meeting, program chairman Pat Przetacznik intorduced Fred Kusch from District 15 and Mayor Stanek. Both speakers were well received and members had several important questions answered about the schools and the city. JOAN K. KOPSELL . PLAN NOVEMBER WEDDING - Mr. and Mrs. Willard Kopsell, 484 Linn avenue, Crystal Lake, announce the engagement of their daughter, Joan Kathleen, to Michael Paul Schiavone, son of Mrs. Delores Schiavone, 519 S. Park road, McHenry, and the late Vincent Schiavone. The future bride, a graduate of Crystal Lake Community high school and Western Illinois university, works as a substitute teacher. Her fiance, a graduate of McHenry high school is employed as a roofer. A November 26 wedding is planned. Himself a protestant, he has had a most successful ministry of bible teaching, primarily among Catholics, and especially to priests and nuns. For three and one-half years he was asked to teach the monks at St. Benedicts. Later , he was asked to teach a group of nuns at St. Joseph's school in Libertyville. This has grown into a weakly study of over 300 people from all denominations and from as far away as Chicago and Milwaukee. He has also been a member of a teaching team traveling throughout the country. This is a meeting one won't want to miss. As usual, Angela Amici will proclaim Jesus Christ with her beautiful and eliciting voice. Those interested are en­ couraged to make reservations early. Reservations are to be made with Mrs. Walter Uliek or Mrs. Anthony Amici of McHenry, or With Mrs. Wencil Stanek of Spring Grove. Earlybird Bazaar For Christmas Shoppers With the holiday season approaching, thoughts of Christmas shopping are beginning to pop up. SCOPE- Successful' Childbirth and Organized Parent Education- will hold its bazaar Friday, Oct. 21, at Crystal Point mall in Crystal Lake. Numerous handcrafted gifts and ojnaments will help shoppers get an early start on Christmas buying. Hostess aprons, stuffed children's toys, macrame plant hangers, tote bags, cookbooks, and a variety of other unique items will be on sale from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. SCOPE is a parent organization that offers members and the public readily available and concise' information concerning all aspects of the parenting ex­ perience. SCOPE members may also take advantage of the organization's Mother's Help Line, play groups for their youngsters, craft groups, early pregnancy classes, and prepared childbirth classes. Part of the proceeds from this year's bazaar wil) be donated to charity and the Chicago chapter of Sudden Infant Death syndrome (SIDS). Speaker To Paralell Death-Divorce Trauma Dr. Bob Frank, head of the Philosophy department at McHenry County college, will be the guest speaker at the next meeting of the Crystal Lake Smile chapter 189 of Parents Without Partners (PWP). Dr. Frank's most popular course is "Living With Death", and most appropriately he will speak on the similarity of dealing with divorce and dealing with death. The meeting will be held on Friday, Oct. 21 at the American Legion home in Crystal Lake at 8:30 p.m. Newcomers orien­ tation will beheld at 8 p.m., and all first time guests are urged to attend the orientation program. Activities planned for the last half of October include a midwest regional Sadie Hawkins dance in Hillside, 111., square dancing, several coffee and discussion evenings, volleyball agfeinst the Liber­ tyville chapter, a birthday party for all members who have birthdays in October, and Halloween parties. November 4, there will be an election of officers for the coming year, and all members are urged to be at this meeting to vote. The installation dinner- dance will be held Nov. 11, and reservations must be made by Nov. 4. Parents without partners is an international, non-profit, educational organization devoted to the interests and welfare of single parents and tor membership* m PWP, a person must bea parent of one or more living thildren, and single by reason of death, divorce, separation, or unmarried. WILLIAM MOECK LATE SUMMER WEDDING-A late summer wedding was solemnized July 23 at St. Mary's Catholic clmrch, Woodstock, before the Rev. William Joffe. Marital promises were exchanged between Lorelle Ann Vacula and William Moeck. The bride's parents are Mrs. Kathryn Vacula of Woodstock, formerly of Wonder Lake, and the late Stephen Vacula. The parents of the groom are Jack Moeck of Elmhurst add the late Elizabeth Moeck. Bouquets of multicolor flowers were at the altar and carried by the attendants. Approximately 290 friends and relatives congratulated the couple at a sit down dinner at the Timbers restaurant after the ceremony. They are making their home in Addison following a three-week honeymoon trip to Hawaii The bride is a McHenry Community high school graduate and attended Loyola university. She is employed by the Illinois Bell Telephone company. The groom is a high school graduate and is owner-operator of a dry cleaning and tailoring business in Villa Park. Tickets Available For Annual Bazaar-Luncheon There were many important items on the agenda to be discussed when the United Methodist Women Mission team (executive committee) met for their October meeting at the First United Methodist church, at 8:45 a.m. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and ap­ proved; the treasurer's report was given, accepted and Will be filed for audit. The annual fall bazaar and luncheon took quite a large part of the discussion period, and arrangements are in the final stages. A baby-sitter will be in attendance all day. Tickets have been distributed to circles for the luncheon. They will also be for sale at the door the day of the bazaar and luncheon, Thursday, Oct. 20. The bazaar will open at 10 a.m., and con­ tinue to 4:30 p.m., and luncheon will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The Mission team unanimously agreed to pledge to the Campus Crusade for Christ International to help support a local youth who will be spending two years in Africa on missionary work.' The next meeting of the U.M.W. Mission team will be Tuesday, Nov. 1, at 8:45 a.m., at the church. Marilyn Haines will be in charge of refresh­ ments. THEATER BUS TRIP St. John the Baptist Catholic church is sponsoring a bus trip Wednesday, Nov. 16 for a theater production and buffet luncheon. The bus will leave St. John's church destined for the Marriott Lincolnshire where the buffet will be served and the musical "The Music Man" presented.
