Journalism Instructor Joseph Longmeyer pays close attention to Casselberry's comments. "You give up your personal life to be the eyes and ears of the world," CBS-TV Network News Reporter Jackie asselberry told the McHenry County college Journalism department. She stressed the long hours, travel, long periods away from borne and lack of sleep as part of the pitfalls of her profession. "But", she said, "TV reporting tells you a lot about the country, yourself and how important it is to tell the truth." Ms. Ccoselberry, who works out of the network's Midwest bureau, covers stories ranging from political campaigns to trials to Soviet tractors. "You're only as good as your last story," Casselberry said, discussing the competitive nature of her work. Money, high stakes and power are some of the rewards of TV journalism. To Ms. Casselberry herself, though, recognition from the man in the street for a job well done is the ultimate reward. Ms. Casselberry, who gained experience*7 in radio and newspaper work < prior to joining CBS-TV, advised the students to make their mistakes in front of small audiences before they go on to bigger ones. She made her pointed comments during her lecture in the Visiting Professional series sponsored by the MCC Jour nalism department. The net work news reporter followed former Illinois Governor Dan Walker in the bi-weekly lecture series. The next guests will be Robert McClory and Melody McDowell, city editor and general assignment reporter for the Chicago Defender. y a t o * * » - * ' ' i i > i - < FOUND In Lakeland Parte, all black kitten.
