The couple are both graduates of Georgia Institute of Technology, the bride-elect with a BS in Information and Computer Science and her fiance with a BS in Industrial Management. Miss Curry is the daughter of Robert Lee Curry of Mc- Donough, Ga., and Mr. Dschida's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Wendel Dschida of McHenry. The couple plan to make their home in McHenry after the wedding. There were twenty-two members of the disbanded McHenry Kitchen band at dinner recently at the Golden Country inn at Wauconda, 111. Now a social group, this was the last social get-together of 1977; however, a date has been set for a picnic at Petersen park in June, and a dinner in October of 1978. It was a happy occasion, as everyone enjoyed being together for dinner and social time. Two beautifully decorated cakes helped make it a very gala event; one represented the Kitchen band in action, with the leader and band members and the other was inscribed "Happy Bir thday" to commemorate everyone's birthday. Farewells were reluctantly extended to Dolly and Rocco Mazzarella as they are leaving for Florida. This group has shared many wonderful times during its almost eight years together and will continue to keep in touch twice each year. Members will be notified as to date and time of the June picnic and October dinner. MR. AND MRS. CLARENCE F. YOUNG OPEN HOUSE-The children of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence F. Young are honoring their parents fortieth wedding anniversary with an open house at the Johnsburg Community club from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday. Nov. 13. They are the parents of three children, David of McHenry, Kenneth of Sterling and Mrs. Roger (Kathleen) Carpenter of Tlnley Park. There are five grandchildren. The family requests that gifts be omitted. An in teresting program is also in tended for this meeting. The final plans for the trip to Woodfield for shopping Tuesday, Nov. 15, will also be made, and the bus trip to the Loop. On Dec. 22, Thursday, at 2 p.m., there will be a Christmas party given by the McHenry Senior Citizen council. A turkey dinner will be served and en tertainment will follow. Members are urged to make reservations for the council party at the November meeting. On Sunday, Nov. 6, a group of members are planning to at tend the play "Oklahoma" at the Woodstock Opera House. The trip to New Glarus, Wis., Swiss Colony was a great time for all who went. The bus driver went out of his way to enable passengers to view the beautiful scenery. Chairman Charlie Maier and his committee are to be recognized for the wonderful preparations for the "hard times" party. Almost everyone came dressed in costumes and paraded around the tables. The three who won prizes were Sartina Winters, the cutest; Marge Black, most original; and Ed La Course, the funniest. Cider and doughnuts were served and decorations on the tables were' apples, Indian corn, pumpkins and gourds. Wonder Lake senior citizens are invited to the next meeting, Nov. 7. After an enjoyable dinner at a local establishment, the T.H.E.O.S. group returned to the First United Methodist church for its meeting Tuesday, Oct. 25. There were twenty-three in attendance for the meeting, which began with several of the ladies reading parts of an ar ticle followed by a discussion period after each reading. Newcomers were welcomed to the 'To Help Each Other Smile" group, and members are glad to see it performing the service for which it was organized. Delicious refreshments were served by Florence Berggren and Dorothy Yoeman, Harry P. Stinespring, gave a very in teresting talk regarding financial matters, particularly on the necessity of wills being properly prepared.
