Mr. Raymond has given us a room to'use for our meetings. With deep ap preciation, we accepted his generous offer. The first meeting basically will be to elect officers and set up an agenda. So be thinking of things to do in the coming months. All of you ladies who signed up at the picnic and others who are interested in joining the auxiliary, mark Nov. 16 on your calendar. Ladies from neigh boring areas are also welcome to join. Though women's clubs are geared to civic affairs and aiding the community, we also anticipate having a good time working for the benefit of our people. / Jo Ann Britt, president of the Pistakee Terrace association was largely responsible for finding a suitable meeting place. I'm sure the ladies of Sunnyside will welcome Jo Ann as a member should she decide to join. RECIPES One of the projects we have discussed since the idea of the auxiliary originated is a recipe book comprised of recipes collected from ladies of the community. This collection would be printed in a local cookbook featuring the favorite recipes of ladies in our area and from neighboring areas who would like to be included. Send in your favorite recipe to Betty Messer, 1405 Bayview lane, McHenry, or drop it off at the house. Be sure to include your name and your area. HAUNTED HOUSE Many of you visited the Pistakee Highlands haunted house over the Halloween weekend. What started out with six people working turned into a giant project involving sixty- three people, who worked over the weekend. The women's club greatly appreciate the time and effort of those who donated time to make this the great success it was. In the three days it was open, over 3,000 peo^e the haunted house held at the Pistakee Highlands Community club. They came from all over McHenry and Lake counties. The women's club took in over $2,000 which will go to various groups in the area. Some will go for a gift to be donated to the new high school in the name of the Pistakee Highlands Women's club. The bike parade in August and the haunted house were the ideas of Dan Felix, who's wife, Nancy, is the president of the women's club. These two projects were such a huge success that Dan will have a hard time topping them. But we'll all be watching to see what Dan comes up with for the Christmas season.
