Senior Caution Urged By Sheriff Tyrrell When the October meeting of the McHenry Senior Citizens club was called to order at 7:30 p.m. at East campus cafeteria by President Ralph Lockerbie, there were one hundred and forty-nine in attendance. Sheriff Tyrrell gave a most interesting talk telling many of the problems the Sheriff's department is faced with end urging perents to have a more watchful eye on their children and their activities, as van­ dalism is increasing by leaps and boudns. He also cautioned the senior citizens to be alert and careful at all times, per- ticularly with strangers. A talk was given by a member of the McHenry Senior Citizens council regarding RTA. Further discussion on this matter wes related at the executive committee meeting on Mondey, Nov. 7, at Land­ mark school. It will also be discussed in further detail at the Nov. 14 general meeting. President Lockerbie read a poem entitled "A Friend" which was very beautiful. The members seem to enjoy his interesting poems and short readings. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and ap­ proved. Two new members were welcomed into the club, and urged to become interested and involved in the many ac­ tivities the club has to offer. Members were reminded to wear their badges et all meetings end new members were esked to pick theirs up. Members were also reminded that there are some delinquents who are behind on their dues. The membership chairman will be accepting dues for 1979. Tickets for the annual club Christmas dinner and party Monday, Dec. 12 are now on sale. Mrs. Louise Giel urges prompt reservations as seating is limited. The dinner and party will be at West Campus cafeteria, at 6:30 p.m. John Doerr advised that persons who went to Drury Lane North and rode in cars were being refunded the bus fare. Persons who rode in cars and accept the refund should really reimburse the drivers they rode with to offset their gas expense.
