It77 Witnesses Prepare For Semiannual Assembly nesses' Assembly hall in Janesville, Wis., is expected to dftaw approximately 1,000 Tttfeijr se persons from the eleven nor- assembly them Illinois congregations 20, i accc •* assigned Nowicki, | "The 3 theme for this Woodstoc) assembly," said Nowicki, "is gathering, -^iaken from the Book of of the rea are for Hebrews, Chapter 10, verse 36: 'You have need*e£ endurance, in order that.. you may receive the fulfillment of the promise.' " The opening address, "En dure Through Association", by District Overseer J.M. Yasko, will set the tone for the two-day meet. > "Two major aspects of association will be stressed," Nowicki ijaid. "One will relate to our meteting together for congregational association and instruction/ a definite Christian requirement. The other will highlight family association. Jehovah's Witnesses put much stress on family unity and welcome any Scriptural in formation which will aid in these times when more and more families are cracking •under the strain. The Saturday morning program will feature a presentation, 'The Bible Can Unite the Family' Highlight of the gathering will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, when Yasko delivers the main ad dress, "Maintain Your" Con fidence Firm to the End". "We are not lookingfor an end to the existen<jfe ~of the earth", said Nowicki, as we understand the Bible to fc^aci that 'the earth abideth forever' (Eccl 1:4), but we do keenly anticipate ait early end of wickedness and suffering. To that 'end' we invite the interest of all people of goodwill and extend an invitation to them to enjoy our two-day assembly with us. All sessions are open to the public and no collections will be taken." I have good health, good thoughts, and good humor, thanks be to God Almighty. -WUlUmByrJ: HealtiTlind chee mutually beg< other. -Joseph Ad The McHenry Plaindealer M12 W«st Elm StrMt 1S7S McHmtry, Illinois MOM Phon* 3S5-0170 y V Illinois |§cond doss rpitoji PtlJ ot McM#cify« Illinois By McHENRY PUBLISHING COMPANY I X- 1 Nil W. Members of the Human Service Network for Adults, formed to coordinate and improve social service assistance to McHenry county residents, signed an Inter- Agency Linkage agreement recently at the Family Service and Community Mental Health center in McHenry. "The goal of the network is to provide better coordinated services for multi-problem, multi-needy people," according to J. Scott Campbell, associate director of the center. "People don't always need one specific thing to be able to cope and to become produc tive," says Nancy Foster, mental health specialist for the Elgin Mental Health center. "They may need counseling, clothing, shelter, food and work training. Since all of these services may be offered by different agencies, a person may have difficulty getting all of the necessary information ang.help- tye purpose of the network is to. provide more streamlined service, to bring the agencies together to sort out who can do what best." Additional network goals include the reduced duplication and prompt, cost-effective delivery of services. The network also provides for active client participation. "Traditionally, agencies have told people what to do," says Dariene Neff, Sustaining Care program coordinator for the FS & CMHC and coordinator of the network. "The network is set up to enhance involvement. People are able to participate in their own service plans." The thirteen agencies in volved in the Human Service Network for Adults are: Family Service & Community Mental Health Center for McHenry County, McHenry County Youth Services bureau, Department of Court Services, Illinois Department of Mental Health-Subregion 7, Elgin Mental Health center, McHenry CountyDepartmentof Health, Illinois Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, Pioneer center, McHenry County Senior Citizens council, McHenry County CETA, Church Women United - Clothing Closet, Social Security administration and McHenry County college. A Human Service Network for Youth, coordinated by Naeda Irich, Child and Adolescent program coor dinator for FS it CMHC, will sign a Linkage agreement soon.
