Since this was the first meeting of the auxiliary, it ' was spent in election of officials and talk of plans for the future. Committee chairwomen were also selected at this meeting. The auxiliary will not be a federated women's club, but an ; auxiliary club for the village of , Sunnyside. The object of the club is to aide the village. The , prime concern for the ladies will be fund raising projects to aide the building fund to help get a village hall erected. Women from neighboring areas - are invited to join the auxiliary. We will always be working to better our village of Sunnyside. If you are interested in * becoming a member contact Betty Lehman, 385-6366. A membership fee per year was j voted upon. This to be put into an auxiliary fund. The next meeting will be Dec. 14, at 1 p.m. at Raymond's on Chapel Hill road and the Fox River. We are asking ladies to bring something to the next meeting, a can or two of foodstuff to be put in baskets. PETS Pet Welfare has informed me that it is now an Illinois State law that cats must be in- ' noculated against rabies the same as dogs. Cat owners, be sure to get your pets in for their " shots. A number of complaints have come in about dogs being allowed to run loose. It is a village, county and state law that pets are to be kept in your yards and not allowed to run * loose. There is a leash law stating dogs should also be walked on a leash. Dogs allowed to run loose will be turned over to Animal Control. Keep your pet in your yard on a leash or in a dog run. VEHICLE STICKERS Vehicle stickers will go on sale at the same time Illinois State license plates do. All residents in the village limits of Sunnyside are required to display a village sticker on each venicle they own. Stickers will be available from the village clerk, 1405 Bayview lane. TELEPHONE Residents of the Sunnyside, Johnsburg area, and surrounding area have noticed Illinois Bell Telephone men working along Wilmot road for the last several weeks. In case you are wondering what all the work is; they are installing underground telephone cables for our area. Illinois Bell working to give better service to our fast growing community. The truck will be in McHenry Friday, Nov. 25. The combined service areas of Goodwill, evaluation and adjustment clients, centers to people in over fourteen coun­ ties. "Some people are of the opinion that this agency serves only the Greater Rockford area or it is limited to one church demonination. The clients come from all demoninations and from many areas. Sometimes one area exceeds the others in a given year, but they eventually balance out," Mrs. Adams reported. "It is a non-profit, non- sectarian, nor funded by church or state. It is locally controlled, not by a central headquarters, and serving only local handicapped people, retaining all materials and funds in this area," Mrs. Adams said. The combined choirs of Faith Presbyterian and First United Methodist churches, under the direction of Bill Toalson, will sing the anthem. Two or three short walks plus some time to play is adequate outdoor exercise. Smaller* short-haired breeds may require a sweater when walked in below freezing weather. Watch your dog's feet for signs of freezing. Beware of jagged ice which may injure its foot pads. A careful inspection of your dog's feet after every walk is essential. Otherwise salt remaining in cuts made by sharp ice can be extremely painful to the animal. The drying effects of indoor heating systems may cause your dog's coat to become dull.
