Dec. 7.14.21.1977) Humidify Limits Plant Growth Low humidity during the win ter can limit plant growth says Dave Plocher, McHenry county Extension adviser. Many house plants benefit from a regular spraying at least once a week. Growipg plants on a waterproof tray that contains moist sand, crushed rock or pebbles will help solve the humidity problem. Be sure the pots themselves are not standing in water, warns Plocher. Home humidifiers can benefit plants. Varieties requiring very moist air should be planted in an enclosed terrarium rather than in an open pot or dish. Terrarium soil should be kept moist but not boggy. Too Modi!? It is estimated that the average TV-watching child sees 21,300 commercials each year.
