New projects were discussed that include resurfacing the community house parking lot, sand for the beaches, playground equipment and remodeling of the community house. / The date of the general an­ nual meeting has been set and this very important meeting will be held Sunday, April 2 The time will be announced in a future column A nominating committee is being formed and committee members will be announced in a future column also. A clerk for the Property Owners association is needed. The • job entails keeping records, taking care of new people and the interested person should like detail work. A major campaign for new members will be under way and some typing is required. Anyone interested in this position should contact Mrs Herbert (Jan) Heritage as soon as possible so they may receive some training. Mrs. Heritage has done a fine job in this position but they will be moving to another community in the future WOMEN'S CLUB NEWS The regular monthly meeting of the Lakeland Park Women's club will be held tomorrow night (Thursday) Jan. 12 at the community house. 1717 N Sunset Hostesses are Marion Batka and Maria Sieracki. Many upcoming events will be planned at this meeting and ideas for the revised craft-club will also be discussed. It promises to be an interesting meeting Do plan to come out and join us. We'll see vou at the community house at 7:30 p.m PROUD GRANDMOTHER Once again Kay Druml is beaming with pride over the arrival of another beautiful grandchild. Her twelfth grandchild, Angela Marie, was born at Woodstock hospital Dec 20 The'pretty baby was 8 lbs., 3 oz , and was 21 inches long when her happy parents, Kevin and Fran Druml, first saw her. Angela has a one- year-old brother Nathan who was delighted to have mommy and baby sister home Our congratulations to the proud parents and to the very happy and delighted Kay, our congratulations, too! A warm hello to baby Angela Marie Druml HOLIDAY HAPPENINGS The Gacek's spent a full day in Chicago with grandparents. The afternoon was spent with Grandpa Joe and Grandma Ann Bielawski who enjoyed playing with her grand­ children, John III, Antoinette and Robert. Grandma also prepared a very delicious dinner of turkey and homemade ravioli. Later in the day it was off to visit with Grandma Irene and Grandpa Bob, Auntie Donna, Great Auntie Nora, Great Grandma Antoinette, and Great Uncle Rich. We also said a farewell to Cousins Sam and Dawn Muscarello and daughter Danielle who are moving to Arizona, -c John and Sharon were very happy when the children were tucked in their beds. The Steve Moore family traveled into Des Plaines Christmas eve to the home of Anne's sister Ron and Pat Castiglione served a delicious holiday spread and the children didn't know what presents to open first. Pat and Anne got together and had their children put on a little ski for the grandparents. Kevin was St. Joseph, Christie was Mary and Baby Jean was Baby Jesus. Brian, Suzi and Michael were the three wise Kings (or as Suzi said, she was a wise queen). Everyone appreciated the efforts of the sisters and pretended the harmony of Silent Night was perfect! Two birthdays were also celebrated Christmas eve. Jean was 1 year old Dec. 21 and her mommy Pat celebrated her birthday Dec. 22. It was indeed a fun time at the Castiglione home. Christmas day Steve and Anne were the host and hostess with the mostess at their home. Everyone came out to McHenry and enjoyed* a delicious turkey dinner with all the trimmings. Presents were exchanged and visiting was enjoyed by all. It was a happy fun-filled day of celebration. New Year's eve the Moores entertained in their home Ringing ip the New Year together with Steve and Anne were John and Sharon Gacek, John and Mary Pautz and Bruce and Sue Warren. A fun time was had by everyone and the good friends enjoyed being together on such a special night. Christmas day at the home of John and Mary Pautz was busy this year. John's sister and her husband and children visited from Woodruff, Wis. Bill and Sue McCutheon and their children Lynn, Mark and Rick had a fun day in McHenry and enjoyed seeing all the nice presents their cousin Tina received. The day after Christmas, the Pautz family traveled to Beloit, Wis., where the whole family gathered at John's father's home. Norman and Ijois Pautz were delighted to have the grandchildren together. John, Mary and Tina and Bill and Sue and their children were happy John's other sister and her family Cathy and Bob King and Amy and Eddie also spent the day from Milwaukee. Christmas eve morning is the time Santa chose to visit the Bruce Warren home. Joel, Julie and Emily were once again delighted with their presents. Christmas eve they traveled to Burlington to the home of the Julian Warrens, and Christ­ mas day was spent with the William Weidert family,'also of Burlington. ^ ) Sue's parents open vtheir presents Christmas morning and this year they were happy they had their children and grandchildren together for the holidays. Their married sons Joe and Mike and their wives Judy and Bonnie came down from Ap- pleton for Christmas and their daughter Cathy and her husband John Louden visited from Columbus, Ohio to ring in the New Year. During the week between Christmas and new Year's Bruce and Sue did much entertaining in their home. The Warrens came down from Burlington to see all the presents Joel, Julie and Emily received and the Weiderts came down on another night to see all the goodies at the Warren home. Sue's homemade pizza was a big hit on both occasions and everyone had a good time. Friends and former landlords of §fruce and Sue visited one evening from Kansas City, Mo. Kathryn and George Derra and their children Helmut art'd Martina enjoyed their visit at the Warren home after not seeing them for five years. It was a busy week and holiday season for the Warren family. The Walinskis, Richard, Beverly, and Linda traveled to Elk Grove Village to spend Christmas with Ray and Eileen Niven and their children, Johnny, Kathy, David and Kenny. Other guests who shared the holiday fun were John and Maureen Fiorie with their children, John Patrick and Mark. Dennis and Marie Fitzgerald, Bill and Gert Fandre. and Bill Fandre Jr. Max and Shirley Koch spent a very quiet and lovely Christ­ mas at home with their children, Michele, Michael, John, Danny, Beth Ann, Marc, Trudy, Jamey, Little Max, and Sissy (Terese). Everyone enjoyed the delicious dinner prepared by mom and the fun of opening gifts. Sue Gibson with children Denny and Debbie traveled to Arizona with Drexell Miller for a Christmas visit with Drexell's parents. Eerysffie enjoyed the pleasant weather and the many sights in Phoenix The holidays for John and Suzanne Beam were celebrated in Bryant, 111., at the home of Suzanne's parents. George and Cleo Stiglish. Jennifer, Howard and baby Jessie enjoyed Christmas with grandma and grandpa but could not wait to get home and see if Santa had left any more goodies under the tree. The McGrath family spent their Christmas at home en­ joying the completion of their new addition onto their home. Marty and Richard had fun watching the different ex­ pressions on the faces of their children. Keith. Craig, and Scotty. This was a special Christmas for Scotty as he is just learning about Santa Claus and his special presents for good boys and girls Later that week they had a surprise visit from - Grandparents William and Martha Stubitsch. Aunt Jackie, and Uncle William Stubitsch. CALIFORNIA VISITORS The Walinski household has been very busy and happy these last few weeks. Beverly's parents. Bill and Gert Fandre, drove in from California to visit with the family and friends. Bill and Gert have been on the run almost every day visiting good friends they have not seen since they moved to California. Linda sure enjoyed having her grandparents here over the holidays and will miss them when they return to California. GOOD MORNING A toast to the New Year was celebrated by a few women who got together , at a local restaurant for a delicious breakfast. This unusual and enjoyable morning was made so by the good cheer of Alice Sullivan, Gladys Kopsell, Maureen Johnson. Ruth Roach, Shirley Koch, Petey Oakford, Vickie Bottari, Italia Mazzoni, Frances Kostka, Marie Cross and Beverly Walinski. Happy New Year! VACATION FUN Linda Walinski spent a fun filled Christmas vacation. Before Christmas Linda per formed her ventriloquism act for the Lakeland Park Women's club annual Children's Christmas party. This was her warmup per­ formance to prepare her and her character "Hardly" for another children's Christmas party The other party was given by the DePaul university fraternity and was held at a hall on the Northwest side of Chicago. Parents Richard and Beverly Walinski were very proud of the good performance given by Linda and Hardly. Later in the week Linda went to spend some time with her Uncle George and Aunt Bar­ bara Reynolds and children, Nancy. Karen, George Jr., and Michael. OUR FINE FEATHERED FRIENDS Although the group couldn't quite make out the skyline of Holiday Hills, 50 miles away the view from the top of the Sears tower was breathtaking. Christmas in Chicago was a delightful sight to the Bluebirds and their moms. The day started with an exciting train ride to the big city. A brisk walk to the Civic center and the majestic tree and life-size ice sculptures were enjoyed by all. Then a stroll down State Street and an invitation to the courtship and marriage of Freddie Fieldmouse and Marsha Housemouse added to their pleasure The train ride home and "having it your way" will be £alked about for daysra 4 H CLUB NEWS State project honor cer­ tificates. seals. and achievement pins were some of the awards presented to members of the 4-H club of Holiday Hills at their annual awards ceremony which was held Nov. 30 at the Hovan residence. Friends and family attended the meeting where Joey Olson was voted the most valuable member of 1977. The evening ended with an indepth report by Lisa Poco on the past, present and future of the 4- Aces The Woodstock 4-H federation meeting was well attended by Holiday Hills members who combined business with pleasure and enjoyed Christmas caroling after the meeting adjourned. Those whose participation was appreciated were Lisa Poco, Elaine Ericson, Candy Gibbs, Tom Novak, Kurt Roth, Joe Mroz, Theresa and Larry Arnold and Jan and John Olson.
