STAFF PHOTO-WAYNE GAYLORD Zee-Bees Down Warriors 66-57 By Dick Rabbitt The Zion Benton ZeeBees, shooting at a fifty-two percent clip, defeated the Warriors Friday night at West campus by the score of 66 to 57. There • was no doubt about the shooting of the ZeeBees. Brian Cole and Macki Cain each had nine baskets over the Warrior zone all from over fifteen feet. The Warriors didn't have a bad night from the field, making 23 of 55 for a forty-two percent shooting average. Scott Dixon, who kept the Warriors in the game the first half, got the Warriors on the board with a three point play at 6:15 to take an early 3 to 2 lead. Dixon and Paulsen kept shooting them up and the Warriors had a first period lead 15 to 10. Dixon had nine in this period. In the second period the ZeeBees began to shoot over the Warrior zone and with 2 .30 remaining Cain's twenty footer put the ZeeBees ahead 22 to 21. The teams traded baskets the remainder of the period and the ZeeBees led at the intermission 29 to 28. At the 5:00 mark of the third period Bear Paulsen's basket put the Warriors ahead 34 to 33, but the ZeeBees were not to be denied and kept putting the ball in from far out on the court. The Warriors trailed 45 to 42 going into the final period The fourth period found the ZeeBees holding a five point spread throughout the period. Every time the Warriors closed the gap, the ZeeBees would return the bucket With 2:15 remaining the Warriors had a golden op portunity, as they took possession, but a missed shot and a Zee Bee rebound that turned into a fast break basket sealed the doom of the w WINN PHILLIPS •f Century 21 Cor* RmI Inc. or* plMMd to pfMtnt you with our wookly of Informative Roal Estoto Artlclo*.
