Examine Role Reversal H PAGE 3 - PI. XIMDKALER - FRIDAY. MARCH 3. 197H La maze toddlers, Johnny Mclntyre and Rhea Pribla, seem to resent the photographer's intrusion on their world of play. Several years ago, parents might have been equally disturbed to see a boy playing with a doll or a girl pulling a boy in a wagon. But many parents of today encourage Such play as "healthful"; it is no longer so important for toddlers to "act like girls" or "be big boys". "Nonsexist parenting" will be the topic for discussion at the next meeting of the McHenry county Lamaze Parents organization Tuesday, March 7, at 7:30 p.m., in the Woodstock hospital cafeteria. An excellent film for parents of young children will be shown. The film, "The Time Has Come", explores questions related to nonsexist parenting and demonstrates how the home is the first and most important place where toddlers and preschoolers learn their values and form expectations of roles they play later in life. The film should answer the many questions that young couples ask concerning the changing sexual roles. Following the film, Dr. Ruggero will discuss "The Joys and Trails of Fathering". Dr. Ruggero has been a family practitioner in Wonder Lake for 25 years and, is himself the father of eleven children. He is certain to entertain both mothers and fathers with many anecdotes from his personal and professional life. Membership in the Lamaze Parent group is open to all parents. The group sponsors speakers, seminars, teas and social events to educate and assist parents in their role of child rearing. The meeting is open to the public and a minimal fee will be charged. Any person interested in more information on the meeting or the organization can contact President Mrs. Wesley R. (Linda) Pribla of Woodstock.
