The warmth of L.A. and the beauty of the ocean greeted the couple who spent the day exploring the unique shops at Marian Del Rey and went on to tour the mansions of Beverly Hills. From there they flew to Sacramento where they were welcomed by Ron's brother, Bob, and wife, Sharon. The foursome toured Old Sacramento, circ 1800, where a little bit of the last century resides thanks to the effort of the city fathers. San Francisco was the next stop where a ride on the fabled cable cars and dinner at Fisherman's Wharf provided the special moments to be remembered for years to come. And finally the beauty of Lake Tahoe and the spruce and snow-covered mountains was picture card perfect as the couples enjoyed both the dinner and the panoramic view. With fond farewells and images of the Golden Gate Bridge, Ron and Dee returned to L.A. for the short flight back to the snowy cold of Illinois, both fortified with enough California sun shine and memories of warm days to last until spring. SCHOOL DAZE A field trip to the world's busiest airport was enjoyed by the second graders of the P.L.E. at Hilltop. A pretty stewardess demonstrated her various duties for our youngsters just as though they were real passengers winging their way to exotic, romantic places.
