Roger Schneider at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran church. McHenry. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul C. Brendle of 3213 W. Kinley boulevard, McHenry, and the bridegroom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Lamberg of 4913 Prairie avenue, McHenry. Approximately eighty guests congratulated the couple at the American Legion Post Home after the ceremony. The bride and groom both attended McHenry Community high school. Thlsbride is employed at Baxter Travenol of Round Lake and the groom works for Illinois Coil Springs of McHenry. The newlyweds are making their home in McHenry. The quilt has twenty squares, each commemorating a McHenry county landmark. Each square has been designed and sewn by a different league member. McHenry area highlights in this lovely quilt include the old Pearl street bridge, Landmark school, the Pistakee Yacht club, St. John's church, and the Fox river. The quilt has been made for Fair Diddley, to be held May 21 in the Woodstock Square. It will be on display at various financial institutions in town and at the fair. DEWEY PHOTO Senior Citizens Resolution Scheduled For Vote McHenry Senior Citizens club members numbering 142 listened Monday, March 27, with interest as it was an­ nounced that the resolution presented by the executive committee stated that dues be increased one dollar per year effective Jan 1, 1979. Mem­ bership fees are due and payable Jan. 1 of each fiscal year. Discussion and voting will take place at • (he next meeting. President Henry Rahn called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. at the V.F.W. hall. The pledge of allegiance to the flag was recited in unison and a moment of silence ob­ served in memory of deceased members. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and ap­ proved and the treasurer reported that the income tax forms have been filed. John Doerr, tour chairman, reported the trip to Dearborn, Mich., is scheduled for June 26, 27 and 28, the bus to leave McHenry at 9 a.m. Reser­ vations are to be made promptly with Mrs. Louise Giel. This should be a very nice trip with many very interesting things to see Mr. Doerr also reported that the bus-luncheon trip to the Field museum Thursday, April 13, still has a few reservations available. The bus will leave the McHenry Savings & Loan parking lot at 8 a.m., and the first stop will be the Field museum to see the Peru gold exhibit then on the Sears Tower for sightseeing and lunch. Mrs. Giel is handling reservations. The May 3 bus-luncheon- theater trip to Drury Lane north is about filled. The bus will leave the McHenry state bank parking lot at 11:15 a.rfl. Mr. Doerr has also scheduled a bus trip to see the Cubs vs Philadelphia Tuesday, May 23. Again, contact Mrs. Giel for particulars. Happy Birthday and Happy Anniversary were sung to members celebrating these events at this time. The tenth anniversary of the club will be celebrated at the dinner Monday, May 22. There are still a few vacancies for the Loop bus trip Wednesday, April 12. Those interested may contact Mrs. Amy Wattman at 385-8518, Loop bus co-chairlady. Mrs. Charlotte Wons, membership chairlady, reported six new members had joined Mrs. Wons also requested that dues be sent to her at her home, 609-B Waters Edge drive. All checks for any trips or club events including dues, should be made payable to the McHenry Senior Citizens club, and not to individuals. Badge may be picked up at the registrars station. A fine is imposed on members not wearing their badges at the club meetings. Jim Zednik, bowling chairman, reports the bowling is going good and is now opening up reservations for the bowling banquet to non- bowlers. The banquet will be Thursday, April 27, at John Evans inn at Crystal Lake There are a limited number of reservations still available, so prompt action is necessary. Mrs. Esther Heard, program chairlady, reported the program Monday, April 10 will be given by the McHenry Choral club and will start at 7:45 p.m. This is a program no one will want to miss Mrs. Louise Giel will have tickets at that time for the spring Choral club concert Saturday and Sunday, April 29 and 30. The program for the evening was a card party and the social committee served refresh­ ments after which the mem­ bers either played cards or just enjoyed visiting together. Luncheon-Card Party To Usher In Spring April 26 The members of the Lakeland Park Women's club will usher in the spring season with their annual spring Luncheon and Card party, which is always a very gala event. The plans are completed for the party which will be held Wednesday. April 26. at St. Patrick's church hall. 3500 W. Washington street, with ser­ ving to begin at 11:30 a.m. Tickets can be purchased from any club member, or at the door the day of the lun­ cheon There will be special tables reserved for working persons who wish to come for lunch. It is suggested that guests make reservations, stating time they will arrive, and how many in the party, to insure swift ser­ vice. Men are also invited to come for the luncheon and to stay to play their favorite card games. There will be table prizes for the winner at each table. Club Slates Demonstration Of Floral Art McHenry Woman's club members will meet Thursday, April 13, at the McHenry VFW hall at 12 noon. Entertainment will be provided by Agnes and Margaret Sislo with a sparkling demonstration of the basic principles of decorating with cut flowers and plants. As floral arrangements and greenery are popular in the scheme of decorating, it should be a delightful afternoon for all attending A number of women attending will be able to take home finished products of the demonstration. Church Women Prepare For Rummage Sale The women of Mt. Hope l-nited Methodist church are busily preparing for their annual, spring rummage sale tobe held Thursday, April 13, and Saturday, April 15. The doors will be open from 9 a m to 1 p.m. both days at the church located at 1015 B r o a d w a y . P i s t a k e e Highlands. A bake sale will be featured Saturday. RBCHS Alumni Set July For Dinner Dance The ' Richmond-Burton Community high school Alumni association officers have selected Saturday, July 15, as the date for the annual dinner dance. The affair will be held at Andre's Steak House in Rich­ mond. The officers of the association are Rick Barber, president; Lily Karls, vice president; and Katherine Turk, secretary-treasurer. FASHION SHOW CHAIRMEN - Ruth DeVries and Judie Wilcox of the Town and Country Newcomers club display a fashion item that will be among those modeled at the "Sugar & Spice" fashion show. Fashions from local establishments will be on display April 20 at Chapel Hill Golf club. The show will start at 7:30 p.m. and dessert and coffee will be served. STAFF PHOTO-WAYNE GAYLORD County Salon 483 Hosts April 23 Buffet Supper McHenry county Salon No. 48& Eight et Forty met recently at the home of Iolene Biangardi in Fox River Grove with thirteen partners present. Plans for the buffet supper were made. It will be held April 23 at the McHenry American Legion Post home; serving from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. The public is welcome. Partners were asked to help by bringing something for the food basket. The meeting was called to order by Le Petite Chapeau Virginia Mann of Woodstock. After the opening ceremonies, reports were given. Children & Youth chairman, Pearl Cooper of McHenry, reported on having received $87.13 credit for the toys she had sent. Acknowledgments from the National Jewish hospital and McHenry county Historical society were read. A letter from May Chesak, who is on the sick list and unable to attend for awhile, was read. The next meeting will be May 22 at the home of Alice Kanely in Marengo. Local Representatives To Attend Convention McHenry area represen­ tatives from Gamma Psi chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma society International will be attending the Lambda state convention held in Peoria April 14 through 16. Gamma Psi member Jane Roubik of Crystal Lake nas been invited to conduct one of the workshop sessions at the convention. Miss Roubik, an art teacher at Crystal Lake high school, will present a workshop entitled "Creative Macrame - Challenge for Self Expression' Included will be a slide presentation showing macrame as an art form and a display of many examples of macrame. Officers of Gamma Psi chapter who will be attending the convention are Ann Dahm of Crystal Lake and Louise Rogulic of Woodstock. Ac­ companying them will be the chapter advisor Marcia Wright of Crystal Lake who is the state necrology officer Evening Of Fellowship For T.H.E.O.S. Members Fourteen members of the T.H.E.O.S. had dinner at a local restaurant March 29, and then returned to the church where hostesses Marie Mullere and Dorothy Steinbiss served dessert. There was a period of discussion and meditation, and Marge Ricker and Betty Fairchild Were prize winners during the entertainment portion of the evening. T.H.E.O.S. is a non- denominational group, meeting the third Wednesday of the month at the First United Methodist church at 5:30 p.m., enjoying dinner together, and an evening of warm fellowship. The next meeting will be Wednesday.
