SECTION 2 - PAGE 1 - PLAINDEALER -WEDNESDAY, APRIL 26,1978 Wonder Lake Mary Jean Huff 728-0267 Gymnastics Circus May 4 At Harrison On Thursday, May 4, there will be a 5, 6, 7, and 8 grade Gymnastics circus at Harrison school. The circus will be at 6 p.m. on the outdoor tennis courts. This is Harrison's first gymnastics show and so we're hoping you will come on out and enjoy the many acts the students have perfected* The show features tumbling, uneven bars, vaulting, dance, adagio, pomrtiel horse, skateboarding, unicycle, clowns, juggling, balance beam and mini-trampoline. The Men's club of Wonder Lake donated a new mini- trampoline. Students participating in the circus are Bob Hartmann, Mary Bazan, Philanne Scully, Lisa Thorne, Dan Crook, Dina Sturm, Cindy Gunderson, Jason Warren, Dawn Sturm, Angela Anderson, Lisa Kar- pawich, Kelly Williams, Cheryl Biggers, Laura Jinga, Billy Hartmann, Jeff Schuster, and Steve West. Students are coached by Miss Jayne McMillan. If the weather is poor May 4, the circus will be postponed until Tuesday, May 9, at 6 p.m. DEGREE EARNED Arthur Weber, son of Jack and Jean Weber of Oakwood Shores, has completed his education with the Police Training institute of the University of Illinois. He received his associate degree at McHenry County college April 14 Art is now with the Algonquin Police force. ANNIVERSARY Happy wedding anniversary to Ron and Nancy Parquette May J. 3 CONGRATULATIONS Don's Masonry bowling team sponsored by Don Huff of Wonder Lake captured first place in the Tuesday night men's league at the Richmond bowling alley. Coming from behind in the final weeks of play and with a slim chance of tying for first place and an even ^ slimmer chance of winning on the final night, Tuesday, April 18, the bowlers came through with a super night of bowling and accomplished the near impossible with their victory. With Don as sixth man, his team includes Earl Miller, Gordie Miller, Roger Stilling, Bob Freund, Ed Condon and Ding Miller, who started the season, but dropped out because of his work schedule. ... there will be a bit of celebrating. This is a return engagement for The Company. Last year they brought to MCC "Damn Everything But the Circus!" The presentation, entitled "I- One-We, Kafka Pieces," will feature short prose pieces by Kafka which range from the provocative and profound to the satiric and humorous. Some of the selections, which often have a parable-like structure, are "Street Window", "Children on a Country Road", "The Vulture", and "At Night". A total of 176 juried artists exhibited their original works of art May 21-Confirmation, Nativity Lutheran church competing for cash prizes and purchase awards in excess of $2,500. A crowd of 13,000 attended and saw four halls of fine arts and one of hobby crafts. A panel of three professional judges selected the winners in each category. F'nergy Assistance Lt.
