DiBlasi and Jeff Meyers all had hits. Later in the game Doug Oeffling had a triple, and John Meyers added a homer. Senior right hander Bobby Sharp went all the way, giving up four hits, striking out four. and issuing three walks. Tomorrow the Warriors Iravel to Zion for a doubleheader with the ZeeBees in an all important North Suburban twin bill The Warriors are now 15 and 1 for the season. Nick Miller's lovely wife freida was the unconscious Queen of the Course Tuesday, May 2 as the ladies of McHenry Country club swung through the first round of their 2-week mini-calcutta. Scoring a dumber of net eagles and birdies, Freida turned in a net 60 for the 18 holes to help her team be the undisputed leaders pf the field with a total of 205, 26 under par, in the 3-best ball event. Captained by Nell Fidler, other teammates were Carolyn Harger and Betty Rode Who reported that Freida didn't Walk with them - she floated ground on a cloud. • Trailing by 8 strokes with a iJ13 is the team of Floss D'Connell, Betty Mohan, Kathy . Lundquist and Fran Herrmann. ; in third place with net 220 is the team of Anna Johnson, Char Zwissler, Jean Remke and Toots Gerstad. With a net of 225 Mil Leisten, Floss Miller, Jackie Victor and Trish Sayler are in fourth place. Individual low nets were registered by Mil Leisten in Class A with a 73, Dot Freund in B with 82, Kathy Lundquist in C with 82 and Freida Miller in D with 60. Sandy Sad Sack award of the week goes to Liz Nolan who found seven traps on the way to the greens and took more than that many shots to excavate herself. Water Baby award goes to Floss O'Connell who dumped three into the creek on No. 8. Most circuitous route taken by a ball was that of Judy Smithson who on No. 18 put her drive out of bounds, caught a utility pole and bounded back onto the fairway, missing the green by a few feet. Nice happenings were birds registered by Carol Cooney on No. 4 and by Letty Busscher on No. 18, plus a fine chip-in on No. 11 by Fran Herrmann. STAFF PHOTO-WAYNE GAYLORD Springtime Brings Increase In Thefts From Homes, Cars McHenry residences con­ tinue to be targets for thieves, with several thefts being reported in recent days. Michael Nave, 1803 Davis avenue, told Sheriff's police Tuesday that someone entered his unlocked garage sometime during the night and took an eight-track tape player from one car and a 40-channel CB radio from another. Richard Lawrence, 2903 W. Maryville drive, reported that his garage was entered Monday night, and an overhead power saw and another electric saw was taken by the offenders. James Crocco, Wonder Lake, notified police Tuesday, that a blue, ten-speed bicycle had been taken from the rear of the home. John Baltrum, Chicago, reported that sometime during the past week, the garage at his home at 301 S. Emerald in McHenry was entered and a table saw was taken. Apparently the offenders* sawed off the lock on the door to gain access to the building. Two homes under con­ struction were the target for thieves April 25. Michael Depner reported on April 26 that sometime during the previous day nine pieces ot plywood and fourteen pieces of lumber were taken from the home he is bulding at 1704 Brentwood lane. Dave Brietberg reported that four sheets of plywood and ten pieces of lumber were stolen from the home he is con­ structing at 1705 Brentwood lane. U Apparently there were no witnesses to either incident. Hansen Marine Service, 1803 W. Rt. 120, notified Sheriff's police Saturday, that seven outboard motors had been stolen from their premises. According to police, a chain securing the gate on the property was cut to gain en­ trance to the property. The intruders then kicked in a door to gain access to the outboard motors. Mrs. Sharon Cooper, B.A., M.Ed, will present the program "Stress in Nursing". Mrs. Cooper is. presently 3* instructor at the University* Health Sciences, Chicago Medical school, and also a consultant and medical illustrator. ROSCH Ingleside resident Anna M. Rosch, 78, died at Lutheran General hospital, Park Ridge, Wednesday, May 3. She had made her home with a daughter at 608 W. Rollins road. Mrs. Rosch was born in Austria June 23, 1899, the daughter of Peter and Catherine (Bierbaum) Gruidl. She was a former California resident and had lived in Ingleside for the past year. Her husband, John A. Rosch, preceded her in death 25 years ago. Survivors include a son, Jack Rosch of Grosse Point, Mich.; a daughter, Mrs. Ruth McKee of Ingleside; four grand­ daughters; six great grand­ children; a brother; Joseph Gruidl of Phoeniz, Ariz.; and a» sister, Mrs. Grace Leske of Lilymoor. The Peter M. Justen & Son funeral home scheduled visiting hours from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. David G. Knox, 2411 N. Riverside drive, would not give a statement to police regarding the accident, which occurred at 12:30 a.m. on Riverside drive, until speaking with his at­ torney. Police reports indicate that the Knox vehicle struck three parked cars, two of which belonged to Robert J. Schemmel, 1618 N. Riverside drive, and one car belonging to Frank Delpino, .1618 N. Riverside drive. None of the cars were oc­ cupied at the time of the mishap. Knox, whose vehicle was badly damaged, was ticketed for driving while intoxicated by police investigating the in­ cident. Bradley V. Smith, 406 N. Kent, was ticketed for failing to yield at a stop intersection following a two-car accident at Rt. 120 and Charles street Monday afternoon. Smith told police he was stopped at a stop sign on Charles street waiting to turn east onto Rt. 120. Dorothy M. Stanell, Crystal Lake, told police she was eastbound on Rt. 120 when the Smith auto pulled in front of her. Ms. Stanell said she could not avoid striking the Smith auto. Neither driver was injured in the mishap. A Saturday afternoon ac­ cident on Elm street resulted in a ticket being issued to Harvey F. Hildebrandt, 1410 Richmond road. According to the accident report, Hildebrandt was eastbound on Elm street when his auto crossed the centerline and struck a vehicle stopped for a red light, which was driven by Cary Handke of Woodstock. Hildebrandt was ticketed for improper lane usage. A McHenry driver and a passenger in her car were taken to McHenry hospital by the McHenry Rescue squad following an accident at Front and Grove street April 26. Laura E. Giallombardo, 5013 Home, told police she was southbound on Front street when she noticed the car in front of her stopped in traffic. Ms. Giallombardo said she applied her brakes but could not avoid striking the stopped auto, driven by John E. Cichowski of Carpentersville. Police ticketed Ms. Giallombardo, who along with her passenger, Janet E. Costa, Chicago, was taken to the hospital. The charge was failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Wonder Lake road, Wonder Lake, has recently completed Marine Corps Recruit Training in San Diego, Calif. Tom, who is a 1978 graduate of McHenry high school, joined the Marine Corps in October of 1977. He completed 12 weeks of Marine Corps training and learned the basics of becoming a Marine. DANIEL WALKER Marine Private Daniel Raymond Walker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Walker, 115 Rand road, McHenry, has recently completed Boot camp at the Marine Corps Recruit depot, San Diego, Calif. During the 12-week course, Private Walker learned the basics of becoming a Marine. He was introduced to the typical daily routine that he will expereince during his enlistment and studied the personal and p r o f e s s i o n a l s t a n d a r d s traditionally exhibited by Marines. He also participated in active physical conditioning program and gained proficiency in a variety of military skills. The private attended McHenry West campus.
