Student A fitting climax to his year as an A.F.S. student at McHenry West campus, Christer Niklasson was installed as a member of the National Honor society during ceremonies May 15 at West campus. Attending this happy oc­ casion with him were Chester's American parents, Paul and Althea Walkington. Our congratulations to you, Christer. ENJOY SCENERY Taking advantage of the beautiful weather last Sunday, Althea and Lee Walkington and Christer Niklasson enjoyed a drive up into Wisconsin where they visited the Cave of the Mounds, Tower Hill State park and House on the rocks. Christer thought the museum at "the Rock" was "fabulous". HERE NTHERE Doris Low went to Dubuque, Iowa, to attend a mother- daughter banquet with daughter Linda Bilikas Wed­ nesday night of last week. Of course, as long as she was there she stayed until Saturday and enjoyed her grandchildren, Nicky, Charlie and little Becky who is lust 3 months old, that cute stage. Then home on Saturday in time for she and Walt to go camping with the Moores of McHenry. On Sunday Lenore Freund, Carol and Mark joined them for lunch and to enjoy the sun along with the wind. BIRTHDAYS Happy Birthday's to Barbara Flynn May 31 and to Elsie Ottoson June 1. June 3 is that special day for Blanche Howe and Wendy Bruce, with Pen- nalope Beck and Lou Winn celebrating their special day June 4 and June 6 we find little Britta Seaborg another year older. Happy Birthday to all you wonderful people. ANNIVERSARIES We find two couples celebrating another year of wedded bliss on the same date this week. June 1 was a popular date with Frank and Lil Visconti as it was with Helen and Lou Winn. Congratulations to all four of you. This meeting will be in charge of George Madden of Plainfield, who is the 11th District Boys State chairman. He will explain Boys State and answer any questions. Lael, son of Everett Lael of 1809 Campion,' Ingleside, recently returned from an extended deployment in the Mediterranean sea. During the seven-month cruise, Caloosahatchee par­ ticipated in various training exercises with other U.S. Sixth Fleet units and those of allied nations, including the com­ bined naval - exercises "National Week XXIV" and "Sardinia '78" in the Mediterranean. Port visits were made in Egypt, Greece, Turkey, Italy, Spain and Tunisia. Technician Lael joined the Navy in August of 1974.
