Transportation will be by cars, leaving about 10 a.m., and returning about 4:15 p.m. Mothers are needed. Please call Mrs. Dorothy (Richard) Hiller and advise if you will drive. There will also be swimming. Pre-schoolers are invited, but must be accompanied by an adult. Non-swimmers must also be accompanied by an adult. There Will be a minimal admission charge. Pick up your permission slips from Mrs. Dorothy (Richard) Hiller, Mrs. Jan (Philip) Bartmann, or Mrs. Barbara (Chris) Wirtz. Slips must be returned before July 30. FOOTBALL- JOHNSBURG H.S. Thirty four boys attended the meeting for football prospects, Monday, July 17, 7:30 p.m. at the Junior high. They were given a copy of the schedule, a training program for the summer, and a reminder about physicals night, Aug. 4. These reports are to be turned in prior to participation in any sport. Names were received of boys who were on vacation or working, but want to play, and anyone else interested can call the high school number and get information, or can secure details at the physicals night, Aug. 4 There will be further information for handing out equipment on Aug. 16 Coach Heimerdinger con­ ducted the meeting. Freshman coach is Bob Smith. BIRTHDAYS Tracy Hiller, Spring Grove road, will be six years old Aug. 2, and celebrate with her girl friends at a party of games and enjoying a "Holly Hobby" birthday cake which her mother will bake. Linda Woellert, Hillcrest PL, Tracy's friend, had a birthday July 23. Many more happy birthdays, Tracy and Linda. Both Tracy and Linda will be entering Ringwood school's first grade in September. John Clark, a parishioner of St. John's, will be fourteen Sunday, July 23. September will find him in the freshman class at Marian high school. A happy birthday and a happy year, John! RECUPERATION Timmy Hiller, Spring Grove road, V/2 years old, is doing much better since his bout with pneumonia. He is Tracy Hiller's brother, and he also enjoyed her birthday. It is good to hearthat Harry Bochat, who has been in Crystal Pines Nursing home for therapy, may soon be returning home. Mass 5 p.m. Holy Name cathedral, Cardinal Cody celebrant, Monday, Wed­ nesday, Thursday, east room, as well as all sessions. Tuesday at St. Mary's. Reception, 7 p.m. Sunday, King Arthur's room. Followed by a Hawaiian party Monday, banquet in the grand ballroom, Tuesday, and Drury Lane theatre, Wed­ nesday, concluding with in­ stallation of new officers Thursday, and then departure. PHYSICALS NIGHT For Johnsburg high school students and Junior high school, Friday, Aug. 4, 7 to 9 p.m., at the Junior high school gym, for all incoming sophomores, juniors and seniors and in­ coming sixth, seventh and eighth graders. There will be a charge. Three male physicians and one female physician will be available. It is desirable that one parent accompany the student, as an insurance waiver must be signed. Gym suits for high school boys and girls will be available that night. These are man­ datory for all incoming fresh­ men. All reports on physicals are to be turned in prior to par­ ticipation in any sport! All incoming fifth graders and freshmen must have a physical from their family physician, according to state law. ST. JOHN'S SCHOOL Registration for new families moving into our parish, please call the convent and make an appointment. This is for Kin­ dergarten through eighth grade. For new uniforms, please ask for form from Sister Vi, so they may be received by the opening of school. Prompt delivery is made. St. John's school will open Monday, Sept. 11. ST. JOHN'S FESTIVAL This will be the 135th an­ niversary of our parish and we will celebrate with a three-day festival, Thursday, Friday and Saturday,Aug. 11, 12, 13, with rides for the children and adults, fish fry Friday, steak fry Saturday; outdoor Mass and a family sitdown diiiher Sunday, all on the grounds of the Johnsburg Community club. There will be a Four Seasons bazaar booth, baked goods, garden vegetables, food available at all hours, roasted corn, and many, many other , interesting activities.
