Not only did we enjoy the genuine hospitality of Ms Banky, but we had a chance to warmly welcome Mary Polerecky back to our group. Mary's courage through her long illness has been an inspiration to us all! And who gave the program9 You guessed it - Mary! Her subject was the Morton Ar­ boretum in Lisle, "Lunching and Learning", with topics from the Pottawatomi Indian or "Clay Products of the Firepot-Sawdust Method" to "Flora of the Chicago Region" or information about the "Plant Ginic" and "What's Behind the Busy Signal". The luncheon menus at the Ginkgo Tea Room were almost as inspiring as the topics discussed after - a perfect combination and a lovely program. Our next meeting will be our annual picnic on Aug. 10, at the home of Mrs. Rita Graff, 8306 Howe road, Wonder Lake, on Thursday, at 12 Noon Mrs B. Alderson, Publicity Chairwoman YOUNG AT HEARTS The Young at Hearts held their regular meeting- on Wednesday, Aug 2, and shared fond memories of their recent picnic in July. Happy birthday greetings were extended to members with August bir­ thdays, John Godtfredsen, Marie Barthuly and Marian Hillier. Members are looking forward to a boat rode on Lake Geneva later this month. Coffee and cake were served and an afternoon of cards followed. Bishop, son of Linden and Beverly Bishop of 2610 Henzada, McHenry, has reported for recruit training with the U.S. Navy at Great Lakes. Jim joined the sea service in February under the Delayed Entry Program, which gives an enlistee up to twelve months to report for recruit training. After boot camp, the former student of McHenry high school w i l l b e g i n t r a i n i n g i n t h e engineering field. Jim enlisted at the Navy recruiting station, 40 Brink street, Crystal Lake.
