Mayor Stanek explained that the key to the entire issue remains to be densities, and that many problems could not be ironed out until the density question is resolved. Jeffrey Ladd, an attorney representing objectors to the proposed development, ad dressed the Council concerning objections presented at the previous hearing by Attorney Babcock. According to Ladd, the proposed annexation plan is not well thought out and the density of the area is profit motivated. Ladd asked the Council, "Where do we go from here?" Mayor Stanek explained that until a problem of densities can be worked out, certain studies requested by the objectors to be done are not necessary. According to Stanek, public hearings prior to the an nexation of the Boone Valley development, took almost a year. Ladd explained that the objectors wanted to know what the impact of the development would be on the people. Alderman Bolger explained to those in attendance, near the end of the hearing, his ideas concerning the proposed an nexation. According to Bolger, he would not sell the city short, and would strive for certain restrictions on the annexation agreement. ALEXANDER LUMBER CO. The proposed annexation contains approximately 385 acres and is located south of Fox Ridge subdivision and is bordered on the south by Bull Valley road, on the west by Curran road and on the east by Crystal Lake road. According to Berg, the proposed annexation contains approximately 1,638 units, with single family lots bing an average of 11,327 square feet in size. STAFF PHOTO-WAYNE GAYLORD Bolger indicated that he wouldn't want any commercial zoning on Curran road as is being requested and that he would want the lots in the subdivision to get larger as they move farther away from the core of the city. He also said that he would want to limit building and occupancy permits to 100 a year and that an increase would be necessary in the capital development funds to cover the cost for increases in the sewer and water capacities of the city. The public hearing and joint conference was recessed until a later date to be determined by the Council. MUSIN' AND MEANDERIN' (Continued from page 1) when we awakened at 3 a.m. to find a bat flying from one side of the room to the other over our bed; 2 - The sub-zero, January night in 1972 when another unwelcome intruder was angered out of apparent hibernation in the basement by our rummaging. The result was his ascension to the living quarters and a winged romp over the TV and over our head until two sturdy city policemen became conquerors. 3 -- The summer of 1976 when questions about a dead bat outside brought this response from the housekeeper, "Oh yes, I found that dead bird' in the front room waste basket". We are assured by authorities that all of these were big bat years. Just what personal fascination we hold for bats is not clear. Maybe the federal government would like to appropriate funds for a study as it has so generously done for numerous other activities of little interest to the general public. We have tread warily from room to room after dark for one week; we have taken all measures to prevent the en trance of anything larger than a tsetse fly.
