The bodice was highlighted by pearls, lace, and a sheer inset. The cap sleeves were of lace, and this treatment was repeated on the bottom of the skirt The elbow-length veil, its two tiers decoratively edged along their length, fell from a Juliet cap She carried a colonial bouquet of pink carnations, white roses and baby's breath Mrs Rudy (Florence) DeFiglia of Chicago, sister of the bride ar^ matron of honor, wore a floor-length Empire dress in mint green, with a v- neck, butterfly sleeves, and a knife-pleated skirt. The First United "Methodist church of McHenry will hold its annual fall "All Church" rummage sale on Friday, Sept. 8. from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and on Saturday, Sept. 9, from 8 a.m. to 12 noon at the church, 3717 West Main street. This is a project to raise funds for the church treasury. Donations of rummage will be appreciated, and can be brought to the church basement. A pick-up can be arranged for larger items by calling the church office, 385- 0931. There will be bargains in used clothing, household items, toys, books, and other miscellaneous articles. AND MRS. ERWIN A. CHERM AK Mr. and Mrs. Erwin A. Chermak of Whispering Oaks, McHenry, will celebrate their golden wedding anniversarv this month when relatives and friends will be with them to observe the memorable oc­ casion. Besides the daughters, Joanne Romanelli of Chicago and Joyce Chermak of Dixon, they have three grandsons, A02 Ronald Romanelli, on the Navy aircraft carrier, USS Midway , Greg, a TV electronics sales technician, and Timothy, a recent high school graduate. Others planning to attend the celebration are Mr. Chermak's sister, Marge Middlekauff, and her husband, Bob, of Volcano, Calif.; his two brothers, Clif­ ford and wife, Ella, from Forsyth, Mo., and Kenneth and wife, Wanda, of Sloughhouse, Calif. Mrs. Chermak will have with her a sister, Florence Meske, and her husband, Alvin, of Chicago; two brothers, Maurice Martens and his wife,Agnes, of McHenry Shores and Allan Martens and his wife, Verda, of N. Hollywood.Calif The Chermaks also will be honored by the presence of his aunts, Mrs Ann Green and Mrs. Elizabeth Chermak, both of Chicago The Chermaks came to Wonder Lake nine years ago following his retirement from the printing trade business They have made their home in McHenry for the past five years. It is easy to start a card game in any of the centers, but there the similarity ends Seniors in McHenry meet and eat at the Moose lodge on Route 120, Monday through Friday. The number of participants is outstanding, and the main interest is arts and crafts Once a month, all sites organize a birthday party, someone bakes a cake, and volunteers decorate the cen­ ters Lectures, films and outings are regular events, and Linn Olesen, nutrition project director, schedules "sense and nonsense" about nutrition once a month All persons. 60 and over, are invited MCC Newman Club Will Open New Season Sept. 5 Newman club will have its first fall meeting Tuesday, Sept 5. in Room 167 at McHenry County college at 12:30 p.m. If one is unable to attend this meeting, they may come Wednesday, Sept 6, in Room 152 at MCC at 12:30 p.m. The Newman community at the college welcomes all in its endeavor to develop and maintain Christian attitudes and values The Newman club at McHenry County college, as it is popularly called on a public school campus, is a Catholic community of students and faculty.
