ELM ST. McHENRY 385-0722 MCCULLOCH WITH CHAIN MAKE On The Sidelines By Dick Robbitt The Warriors take to the road tonight traveling to Fox Lake to take on ah old foe the Grant Bulldogs. It has been eighteen years since these two schools have met in a football game, and there are a lot of fans in both communities awaiting this game. The Warriors will have their work cut out for them. Stevenson scored five touchdowns last week on the ground, so the Warriors will have to beef up their defense. If they can get some improvement in their line play, the Warriors could make a ball game out of it. However, they will have to go into the ball game a certain underdog. Chuck Cuda's golfers have started out the season by winning their first three matches. The veteran coach looks as if he has another powerhouse waiting in the wings this season. Time will tell, with thje coming of fall golf several years ago, a lot of schools have seen improvement in their programs. Gary Gray's girls tennnis team are off to a fast start. They will play four matches this week and tomorrow have a tournament at Dundee. Hutch's cross country is lacking in numbers this season, but you can bet the old veteran will have them in top form later in the season. 4 The girls field hockey team won the other day at Belvidere 5 to 0. Former Warrior great, John Mclnerney, is one of four returing lettermen at Eastern Illinois University this season. Last season the Panthers won the National Division II championship, and Mclnerney qualified as an All American. He also had that honor the previous season. For those of you who attended the football game last Friday night, there was over 100 years of officiating experience on the field. The officials Norm Erickson, John Schaefer, Jack Klien, and Ray Brooks all have over 25 years of officiating experience behind them. Although they have slowed down a bit, they are still on top of the play, and know the rules inside and out. The McHenry High School Boosters Club have undertaken a giant task this season. The crystal ball really got cracked last week, so will try and improve on it for the weekend games. Must pick Grant over the Warriors because of the experience factor on the part of the Bulldogs. Stevenson to trim Crystal Lake South. They are a quick and well coached team. In a real thriller I'll pick Crystal Lake Central over Warren of Gurnee.
