Add liquid to measure 1 cup (juice and chopped prunes). Sift dry ingredients together. Add nuts. Beat eggs well. Add sugar, oil, buttermilk, vanilla and prunes in that order. Add dry ingredients and nuts to liquid mixture. Mix well. Pour into prepared 10 inch tube pan. Bake 1 hour and 5 min­ utes at 350 degrees. Cool in pan 10 minutes, then remove. While cake is still warm pour Vanilla Glaze over it. Vanilla Glaze 1 c sugar Vi t soda Vi c buttermilk 1 T Karo syrup Vi c butter or margarine Combine all ingredients in saucepan. Heat slowly, stir- ing constantly to boiling. Con­ tinue stirring and cook 2 min­ utes. Remove from heat. Stir in 1 teaspoon vanilla. Pour over cake while warm.
