A group of adults from She pherd of the Hills Lutheran church will be attending an adult retreat at Lutherdale Bible camp, Elkhom, Wis., this weekend. The event will take place at the all new retreat center recently built at the Bible camp. Pastor Carl Anderson, a staff member from Lutheran General hospital. Park Ridge, will lead the retreat for the congregation. The theme will be "the Challenge of Christianity Living!" to Everyday Through presentations, discussion, and interaction the group will consider how Biblical truths apply to every day living. Plenty of free time will be allowed for participants to enjoy the beauty of the Lauderdale Lakes area of the Bible camp, The entire weekend retreat is being coordinated by parish education chairman, Ron Kot. Who is training licensed, certified and-or registered health personnel? A.r Personnel who are licensed, certified and -or registered receive their training in educational programs administered by universities, and community colleges, secondary schools and hospitals. The education programs are approved through the responsible state agency such as the Illinois department of Registration and Education or professional associations such as the American society of Radiologic Technologists. The purpose of program approval and health worker credentialling is to protect and promote the public interest Physicians, dentists, professional and practical nurses and allied health technicians, technologists or therapists generally come under the protective umbrella of licensure, registration and- or certification. Q. Who are the unlicensed health personnel and where are they trained? A. Approximately eighty percent of those persons giving direct nursing care are unlicensed nurses aides. Illinois has no law requiring minimum educational stan dards for these workers A good percentage of them are hired without any prior preparation and then participate in on-the- job training experiences of varying degrees of quality.
