NOVEMBER 3,1H7X Fireplace Maintenance New Church Members When thinking of chimney cleaning, one is,likely to think of England s 19th century chimney sweeps-snot covered men with long-handled, stiff .bristled brushes But although a centruy has passed and there have been many technical advances, chimney cleaning is still an important aspect of proper fireplace and stove main tenance and must not be ignored According to I diversity of Illinois Home Economist. Nancy Moore, smoke from a wood fire contains a black- brown substance called creosote When the stove pipe or chimney temperature drops below 250 degrees F. creosote condenses along the inside The amount of creosote deposited The MrHen'ry Plaindealer Established 1875 3812 V^»st Elm Street , Phone 385 0170 McHenry Illinois 60050 Published Every Wednesday t Friday at McHenry Illinois Second Class Postage Paid at McHenry Illinois By McHENRY PUBLISHING COMPANY Subftcnbers or* nquti'td to pfO*>b« immediate notu# of (Kongo o* add'eit to The MrHtnry Ploindeoter 3§' 2 W Elm St McHenry III fcOOSO A dtdudion ol on* month from •ho expiration of a subscription will bo mod* <*horo a tKongo of odd'ett it provided through tho Post OWice Deportment t Lorry E.
