\ f know{T" "TP • ,T*r VA<ftr What worm accurately predicts the severity of the coming winter? How can you look at it and read the forecast for the coming winter? A number of weather ex perts have confirmed the be lief that the caterpillar, known as the "Wooly Bear," accu rately forecasts the winter every year. This may be hard to believe but it has been found that the brown band in the center of the Wooly Bear's length re lates to the weather. If the band is wide, then a mild winter is ahead. If tiarrow, a severe winter is in store. Tests of unusual weather facts and tests of the Wooly Bear's accuracy have proven this caterpiller remarkably ac curate. Nature, then, reveals a valuable tip about future weather for those who are in terested enough to observe carefully.
