Richard Allen, born Nov 17 Baby Ricky now has a new cousin. Donna Congratulations to all FLORIDA TRIP Between the birth of the first and second grandchild. Doris Rupp took a vacation in Bradenton. Fla The Rupp family have a second home in Bradenton. and upon the closing of school in June they will be making their home permanently in Florida leaving temperatures in the eighties in Florida. Doris returned to Sunnyside in t ime for the second snow storm in less than a week Doris said she was ready to get right back on the plane and return to the Florida sun. but she was also anxious to get home and hold those new grandchildren Christmas will be quite an exciting time in the Hupp household this year RECl PERATING Billy Mitchell , son of Donna and Bill Mitchell . 4017 Wilmot. is in the McHenry hospital recuperating from a bout with bronchial pneumonia Billy is reported to be doing mu rh better, and hopes to be out of the hosital and home again soon Best w ishes for a speedy recovery. Bill Mitchell in­ troduced the two new police officers. John Casey and George Davie, to the members of the board. Plans were accepted for the Essex-Costello Springdale subdivision Still one of the fastest growing areas in McHenry county. Sunnyside will see many new homes go up next spring Paul May and Sons of Spring Grove are again doing the village snow-removal. Paul is right on top of things, and has his equipment out as soon as the snow starts. For the in­ formation of residents of the new subdivisions of Sunnyside in Ember wood. '" 'at McHenry s monthly third- Saturday recycling drive All people involved in recycling are asked to take note and pass the word to other recyclers that this month's drive will be held at the north parking lot of West campus high school instead of the usual spot McHenry citizens have shown a great willingness to cooperate in the preparation of their recyclable materials Following is a list of some "L)o's and Don'ts" that can be of help to old-time recyicers and for those w ho would like to end the year by beginning this environmentally sound practice Paper - Do tie newspaper securely into stacks 8-10 inches high so they can be handled by the workers do be sure to remove all plastic bags: don t \ bring wet paper cardboard and magazine should be bun­ dled seperately Glass - Do wash bottles out (it is not necessary to remove paper labels); do remove all metal and plastic ' this includes the narrow metal rims that often remain on wine bottles necks and the plastic corks and • jackets ' ' that come on some bottles i ; don't pre-crush your class; do bring only clear, green, or brown glass Cans -- Do keep steel cans separate from aluminum products, do clean cans and remove paper labels. do flatten cans to conserve space (this is most easily done by removing both ends, tucking them inside the can. and stepping on the can >. R N director of staff development at the hospital Interviews and selection for the free course w ill be made during the next two weeks This sixth refresher course will cover eleven weeks and has been scheduled to ac commodate nurses who have school age children. Mrs Kelly announced "Over the past two years, we have presented this course five t imes and have found it to be lx»th popular and effective. It has succeeded in preparing many registered nurses to re enter their profession after years of full t ime homemaking and child rearing The curriculum includes Classes in current concepts of nursing, modern pharmacology and hospital procedures and policies Extensive supervised pat lent-care experience follow s classwork. in order to provide for the practical application of new concepts "There is no cost for this course except for the cost of textbooks."
