(Continued from page 4) The McHenry Zoning Board of Appeals voted to recommend approval of three zoning requests by McHenry Lakes Estates Development. The McHenry Lakes Estates Development is located south of McCullom Lake road and east of the Chicago & Northwestern railroad tracks on the property formerly known as the Jake Freund farm. It was annexed to the city in 1972 when it was known as the McHenry Development, and the zoning changes requested will be amendments to the pre- annexation agreement. Under the old plan, no zoning was allowed for single family residences and the density was established at 1134 units per acres. The new development requested a zoning change of some of the land originally zoned 'R-4, multi-family to R- 3 and R. 3A, single family. The proposed changes would reduce the density to six units per acre. The board of Elementary School District 15 has chosen to study a new proposal con cerned with legislation governing donations of developers to school districts in the county. This resulted from a report made by a recognized authority. in such legislation after his review of Senator Jack Schaffer's proposed legislation regarding these donations. The City of McHenry will conduct a special census in June to determine the exact population within the present city limits Plans call for census interviewers to begin their work, June 15, and con tinue for approximately two weeks. Direct financial aid comes to the city through state taxes with approximately $15 per person from state income tax and about $13 per person from Motor Fuel tax. If this year's census shows a gain of 1,000 people over the present population of 8,500 recorded in 1975, the city will receive an additional $20,000 annually from these state taxes.
