SUPPLEMENT TO McHENRY PLAINDEALER - PAGE 32 -FRIDAY. JANUARY 19, 1979 •ic. ••• '• -N- -• /a v r. Three ducks take to the air as a boat breaks the "no wake" area on the Fox river near the city beach recently. The beginning of the "no wake"area is marked by buoys and is plainly visible behind the boat. A few hundred yards into the restricted speed area, this driver, who was apparenly not 'awake', did slow down. The temporary "no wake"area was established by Sheriff Arthur Tyrrell, pending a public hearing on the issue tentatively scheduled for earlv in July. According to Tyrrell, the restriction is a safety precaution, because "since the erection of the new bridge in McHenry. that area of the river has become a raceway park." The water patrol of the Sheriff's department patrols the area in an effort to enforce the "no wake" restriction. _ STAFF PHOTOS-WAYNE GAYLORD 2-WAY RADIOS CB-MARINE-COMMERCIAL LAKE & McHENRY COUNTIES LARGEST SELECTION at LOW.
