The competition is being offered for the first time in the county by the science depart­ ment of McHenry County college. The competition has been developed by the junior Engineering Technical Society (JETSV a national organization of high school Barbara Semrow, co-chairman; Russ Hopp, chairman; and Loren Schiera, co-chairman are members of the Central committee for St. Patrick's church Town and Country, which had its first general meeting Monday, Jan. 29. The name of the 1979 offering has been changed to T&C's "Remember When". STAFF PHOTO-WAYNE GAYLORD The Central committee of St. Patrick's Town and Country is announcing a new twist to its name. Town and Country will now be known as T&C's "Remember When!". The changing of the name was the result of an opinion poll taken by the Central committee. Russ Hopp is the chairman of this year's Central committee, with Barbara Semrow and Loren Schiera serving as co- chairmen TC&C's "Remember When!" had its tfirst general meeting Monday, Jan. 29. At this meeting the following com­ mittees and their chairmen were named: Pete Keller, finance; Bill Miller, security; Jake Wegener, electrical; Barb Semrow, publicity; Mr. and Mrs. Bill Mueller, food and drink tickets; Jerry Sharp, sanitation; and Steve Fike, photographer. 8 J Earn Montini Honor Roll At the end of the second quarter of study, Montini Middle school has 81 students on its honor roll. To make the honor roll a student must compile at least a "B" average (3.00) in his seven or eight academic subjects. A straight "A" average is a 4.00. 4.00 - Linda Thorson and Patrick Ziebel. 3.88 - Ruth Pierce, Craig Kunz, John Norkett and Brian Smith. 3.75 - Michael Freund, Diane Knox, John Snyder, Jana Williams, Brian Diedrich, Kimberly Schiera, Danielle Schiller and Michelle Young. 3.71 - Jim Leon and Amy Pieroni. 3.63 - Michelle Schwanke, Robin Irwin, Carol Snyder, Peggy Coughlin and Loriann Kostecki. 3.57 -Charles Temple, Robin Glosson, Valerie Gilbert, Craig Faris and Dan Peschke. 3.50 - Andrea Navarroli, Kathleen Miller, Mark Biggus and Kerry Porter. John Konitzer, chairman of the natural sciences division at MCC, explains that the Feb. 15 competition will include teams selected by area high schools for thevCompetition. Konitzer said all mgh school students are eligible tO| compete on the teams. Winners 'of the local com­ petition may be invited to participate in a state level meet at the University of Illinois on March 6. There will also be trophies for the winning schools and certificates for winning individuals. Each school will be limited to a team of 12 students who may compete in six subject areas. The competition areas include mathematics, chemistry, physics, biology, graphics, and pocket calculator skills. A student can compete in one or two areas. The team's score is determined by the average of its accomplishment in its four highest areas. The competition Thursday, Feb.
