Tonight in the home final they will go against Cary-Grove in a Fox Valley contest. Tomorrow they journey to the North Shore to take on the ZeeBees. The Warriors are out to make it two over the Trojans for the season, and would like nothing better than to trip up the ZeeBees on their home court tomorrow night. A small group of people have just completed a lot of hard work to make an organization go over in this community. The McHenry High School Booster Club had their Annual Alumni basketball same last Saturday night. Starting back in August, Geo Cadotte, Tom Pender, Virginia Anzinger, Sharon McNish, the Earl Coopers, Bill Blankenhorns, Roger Collins, Ron Smiths, Joe D'Angelos, Ron Creutzs and Sally Belzer under took a great task. Although their ultimate goal was not reached, nevertheless the project came out a success. Thanks are also in order to the faculty, and the alumni who made this a great game, theKiver Ringers, the Pom Pom squads from both East and West, and to the people who attened the game and to those who purchased tickets. All proceeds from the Booster Club go to the McHenry High Athletic Department. Both boys and girls benefit from the proceeds. They have two more projects this spring. A Pancake: breakfast will be held on April 1 and later in April they will have the concession stand at the McHenry Relays. Why not call one of the above and offer your assistance, they can use your help, and will.appreciate any help you can give them in their projects. Thanks to Twig Miller for taking stats at the Woodstock game last Friday night. The writing didn't seem to bother him, as he pumped in eleven baskets on Saturday night. Due to superior coaching and the help of some tall and talented alumni, the Even years defeated the Odd years in the Alumni game. (Sports Editor's Note: Guess who that Superior Coach was?) Coach Ken Ludwig had the honor of coaching sons Roger and Kenne, while I had the honor of coaching his youngest Tom. It was good to see a lot of the former athletes come back and participate, and Coach Ken would sure like to have some of that size that was on the floor Saturday night. Mike Shanahan's Water Warriors open their season this week with two meets. This is the last year that swimming will be a so-called spring sport. Back to the winter next season, and next week we will bring you some more changes in high school sports, that will take place next season. Bill Blankenhorn has been nominated for the A.D. of the year in District 6. This area covers the entire northern part of the state from Waukegan to Moline. It is quite an honor for the Athletic Director of McHenry High School, and we along with all Warrior fans offer our congratulations. ^ PAGE 7 -PLAINDEALER- FRIDAY.
