Tears were everywhere as Johnsburg fans, players, coaches and cheerleaders realized that the 74-50 loss to Oregon in the finals of the sectional tournament had ended the sensational season of the first year Skyhawks. STAFF PHOTOS-WAYNE GAYLORD Observe Girl Scout Week March 11-17 has been proclaimed Girl Scout week, marking the sixty-seventh anniversary of the founding of Girl Scouting. It was decided to observe the week with the tt)eme, The International Year of the Child" and highlight it with special "Find the Gift in Every Child" projects. All children are gifted in some way, but many don't know until tftfcy try that they have any special talent or ability they can take pride in or share with others. Leaders have been encouraged to help their girls to know the joy of finding their own special gift. Special church services were designated in many of the community churches to help celebrate this week and girls were asked to attend in uniform. Mary Beth Smith, a senior at Marian Central high school, painted a replica of the new trefoil design on one of the local business windows. One of the businesses offered free merchandise to any Girl Scout appearing in uniform. Social Security student beneficiaries were warned this week that their monthly checks will stop if they don't complete and return a required school enrollment report. If a student does not return the form, or fails to have the school verify enrollment as required, Social Security checks will be suspended and the student's eligibility for previous payments will be investigated. "If a student received checks for months he or she was not a full-time student, then those benefits must be repaid," Biscomb said. He encouraged any student who needs help in completing the form or has questions about it to contact any Social Security office. The Woodstock office is located at 1090 McConnell road, Woodstock. Duster, director of the Illinois Department of Business and Economic Development (BED), last week released figures on industrial expansion and creation of jobs in the state during 1978. The figures show BED helped create 10,470 new jobs last year by assisting in the location of 45 new and expanded plants throughout Illinois.
