5, PAGE 12 - PLAINDEALER - WEDNESDAY, MARCH 21,1979 a Johnsburg Mary L. Gunderson 385-3052 School Pride Unhurt By Loss It was a disappointment to many that we lost our game with the Oregon Hawks. The score was 74-50; but the game was well played by both teams, and the crowd contained many rooters for each side. We are very proud of our Johnsburg Skyhawks, and feel that each member of the team put forth his best efforts. Part of the "learning" in life is being able to take the good and the bad. So, while you may have lost this game, you handled the situation well, and added a worthwhile experience to your individual personalities. We feel you are great! DISTRICT 12 P T O. "The Mouse that Roared", a satire, will be presented, Sunday, March 25,2 p.m., in the Johnsburg high school auditorium, and on Saturday, March 31, 8 p.m. There will be no performance on Friday, March 30, as originally had been scheduled. It promises to be genuine entertainment for all! You shouldn't miss this. From the collections of UNICEF is a poem from Allison Kimmie, age 11, - called simply- PEACE? The cry of pain could not be heard Through the thunder and roar of the guns, An orphaned child with his tear streaked face Does not know to where he runs. Do we need to say as we drop a bomb We're doing this for peace, And as we pray our brother we slay Each death means war will cease? The forest is dense . and the weeds grow thick As I wander the earth alone My friends and family all are gone There's not even a sigh or a moan. No birds sing and dogs don't bark, And the cats don't cry in the night, No buildings, no cars, no TV stars This world is a terrible sight. Why am I left here all alone With nobody here to love It makes me wonder whether God Is in heaven above. There's one thing I know As I wander alone, There's no fighting here at last No guns do roar and there's no more poor and war is a thing of the past With all men gone the wars that they won Don't matter now in the least, But one thing for sure we haven't got war Because now we've got peace.
