Adults, College Choir Unite In April Concert The voices of the Northern Illinois Choral association and the McHenry County college choir will be heard at 7:30 Sunday, April 22, at St. Thomas church, Route 176 and Oak street in Crystal Lake. The program will lead off with selections from the rock opera, "Jesus Christ, Super star," accompanied by piano, rock guitar and percussion. This will be followed by "Alleluia," "The Last Words of David," and, "The Testament of Freedom," a setting of four passages taken from the writings of Thomas Jefferson. The final selection, "St. Patrick's Mass," composed by Philip Green, will be ac companied by full orchestra. This Mass is the composer's personal tribute of Thanksgiving, not only to the church, but to Ireland, a country he has loved with something approaching passion, since his youth. The entire production is under the direction of MCC music instructor, Judith Williamson, assisted by ac companist, Barbara Hess Thorsen. The Northern Illinois Choral association was founded by Margaret M. Griffith before the development of McHenry County college and the college choir combined with the choral association after the college became a reality, providing a community chorus in con junction with the educational instruction. Two concerts are presented each year, both winter and spring. The chorus also sings at community and church programs.
